I do think that there is a bit too much hype around the Australian GN's and Kransbuhler specific bats. I am not by any means saying they are bad. All the examples I have are good, varying from pretty good to exceptional, but I would would say other makes I have had are on a par with the exceptional ones, not necessarily better, but on a par with. For example I have a couple of GM players bats from Vitas which are on a par with the best GN Aus bat that I have, which is a Mueleman's sourced DW replica. They are all exceptional but my point is that other brands are capable of exceptional bats and that the mystique around these bats is a little overblown.

Yes and no.

The issue is %age of hits or great/exceptional bats you get from GN-AUS or Kranzbuhler. I have bought a few, my friends have bought a few and not one bad bat in the batch!! It's remarkable. I have had bats from some supposedly great bat makers that are touted on this forum and they are no way near 100%. One bat maker's 75% bats that I own are performance free. Compared to these numbers GN AUS and Kranzbuhler should be awarded knighthood in every realm! Keeley and CAs are also other brands/maker that turn out superb bats in much higher %age than the competition.

I'd argue that your small sample size of good CA's could be countered by the consistent dross that is sent in to me to be knocked in or repaired.

The XXX-11 bat has a FLAT face. As flat as it gets. The handle is skinny, same as the Legend and thinner than the XP80.

Yep. The handle is skinnier and slightly different shaped. The xxx-11 is more oval at the top hand like the Legend, the XP80's handle is slightly rounder there.
