Kookaburra 2018
« on: September 13, 2017, 06:00:50 PM »

Just looks like a sticker refresh, but add them in here as they release more.

There's usually a new model or two, so keep your eyes peeled.

My eyes hurt looking at the Fever bat. But, I have to say, I do love how classy the Ghost stickers look. No major changes from the 2017 stickers, but these do look lovely.

There is the Fever Max which is a bit more restrained than that

They've also updated the blaze range with more restrained gloves... Seem to be releasing them all on Instagram

The Verve was replaced with the Blaze last season as endorsed by Jos Buttler and was mainly oragne with yellow, red and black detailing, this year its similar to the Onyx colours of black with orange it would seem

Sorry, meant Blaze, that'll teach me for multi tasking! Amended previous post...

Anyone seen any images of softs? They uploaded a picture of Butler on their twitter recently and if that's the new gloves they look really smart.

If I wasn't sponsored by Kookaburra and using the Blaze range myself I'd probably got them mixed up myself as the Blaze is basically the Verve in a different colour scheme. The bat shape is virtually the same along with the style of the softs as they are designed for Buttler which explains why they are virtually the same again for 2018 which isn't a bad thing as the Blaze served me very well last season especially baring in mind I got some decent runs with a broken handle  :D

I can almost guarantee that the Blaze softs will be virtually be the same in design as 2017 but the accent colour will be predominantly black with a hint of orange as shown in the Buttler picture. I would love to see the Ghost in a split finger glove as the white and chrome looks great but I'm not a fan of the sausage finger

The Surge softs (specifically gloves) are different from last year. They have a "reverse opening" which basically means that the velcro strap opens in the opposite direction to usual. I personally really like it, as it means the hand opening opens wider when you put your gloves on. The other major change is all the top end (Pro) gloves have a neoprene closure, as opposed to a towelled wrist band. This allows a much more snug fit, especially for those with thinner wrists.

The Ghost range has been expanded (more price points and grades), whilst the Surge has a lighter blue colour way this year - looks stunning IMO. Blaze batting gloves are gorgeous. Not much technical change, but beautiful in the flesh!

The T20 pads and gloves are also available in black now too.

Always been the poor relation to GM and GN over the past 5 years or so, softs are awful compared to the other two, all models very similar in shape and on the couple of looks at our club even the stickers are still boring 2D jobs

Yes the bats tend to perform ok but well behind the big 2 in my opinion
