I know your ground loses out and mine gains. For what it's worth, they do put on a very good show there. Went to watch the India test a few years back, and seen numerous big games there. They have a good set up.

Have to agree that Trent Bridge and your place losing out is sad though.

Oh, this is not a partisan thing - face is nowadays I've way more chance of getting to the Rose Bowl for a game than I have of going to Headingley, and the fact is that England tend to do disproprtionately badly at Headingley because it has more pace and bounce than most of our pitches, so plays to the strengths of overseas bowlers more.   But I do worry that we are not playing at Trent Bridge where the conditions and the memory of their abject humiliation last time will hang over the Aussies. 

I also worry about staging a major game at the Rose Bowl, given how poor the logistics around the ground have been in the past.   Its a good viewing ground once you get inside, but the journey in and out can be horrendous.

Ishant signs for Sussex for the first two months.

Definitely cover for Archer, but this is just an awful signing and the problem with County stuff as far as I'm concerned. Proved time and time again he's nothing special, then a county sign him, short term just so he can get used to English conditions to give India a better chance of beating England!

Would you see any other country in the world do that? Giving a second rate bowler 2 competitive months to get used to conditions, I don't think so!

But, yes, I'm very much against the rotating-door overseas pro thing. It undermines the integrity of English cricket. Like pretty much everything else that is going on at the moment.

Yep. Felix Organ has been in the UK since he was 2. Done really well for the 2s and the Academy but looks like he's had a tough start. Ian Holland played for South Wilts in the Southern Premier League last year. He won a Cricket reality show in Aus. I think he qualifies for the US, England and Aus!
