Right, so it is half term and there is no one using the new indoor school at the moment, so I took the opportunity to try out the facilities.

http://www.reeds.surrey.sch.uk/cricketcentreAt the school there is pitch vision, a Merlin machine and multiple other bowling machines as well as all the other facilities you would need at an indoor school.
We had a really good session with a coach who helped me and my son.
I worked on front foot, spin and the hook shot in a session that lasted over an hour and a half.
My son just tried to go after Merlin. It was a comical sight!
Reasonable to say I took a few hits to the body and one to the lid against the quick stuff and Merlin made me look a beginner at the start with ripping leg breaks...
Still it was great to get some pointers from a young coach who has just started out who has, I believe, absolutely the right philosophy about batting technique.
Sadly there are no videos of me this time, but I hope to go again next week and will see what I can do.
