Very strangely I like watching Elgar bat just as much as I do Amla- who is a beautiful player to watch

Something about Elgar's sheer guts, crooked defensive strokes and everything seems  its  so much effort.

Fair play to India - they’ve competed this series. Had chances in the first 2 games as well.
I personally saw them getting hammered.

SA coach and faf wanted a green top for this test match and it’s backfired on them. Shame it’s not s 5 test match series

Am I right in saying that India have not won a test series (in any country) against SA since their re admission to test cricket in 1991?

Not in South Africa but India have won at home. Multiple times.

Indeed - I find with Amla and De Villiers there is something otherworldly, that you know they are doing something that you could never aspire to, whereas with Elgar you feel like you're watching a slightly better version of the average club player.  I've always said as a Yorkshire fan that I wanted players who would crawl over broken glass to play for the County, because that was how I felt about it, and Elgar looks like a South African version of the same

IIRC India have only won three Tests in South Africa, rather surprisingly two of those wins came at the Bull Ring.

ODI series started the other day. du Plessis scored a quite brilliant 120, but he was outgunned by Kohli, whom hit his 33rd limited overs century. 

de Villiers missing the first three matches with a fractured index finger. du Plessis subsequently broke his index finger and will miss the rest of ODIs and T20s. Markram will be captain.

South Africa where hopeless against India's wrist spinners.

Those spinners and Kohli are the difference between 2 sides. I don't see SA winning the series without AB.
