Think i�ve seen enough now to be sure that Billings is bobbins at this level. Number 6 isn�t an easy slot in T20 but he�s hardly shown anything in plenty of chances here.

Rubbish

He played for the 174 and saw his team home. NZ didn�t really bother chasing the game until the 174 was secured. Guptil played it well, just stay in and bat the majority of the overs and 174 on these grounds will happen. See off the only threat in spin and boom.

England win a t20! More down to Giorgio watching the 175 score rather than the 195. But a win is a win.

Presume stokes comes in for billings at some point.
How do we get whales and root back in??

140kph and our only bowler capable of actually bowling yorkas ? Tbf he�s not bad at the white ball format.

Tricky isn't it? Six bowlers is much easier on the captain than five, so you are picking six from Roy, Hales, YJB, Root, Malan, Morgan, Stokes and Buttler (Billings may be done). If we're managing workload, I'd leave out the two tykes, if we're picking best XI it's tough.

I am not particularly worried about this T20i Tri-series for a few reasons....

1. NZ are always a very good white ball side
2. Australia are a completely different side at this time of year when they can call on players that have been playing on BBL for 6/8 weeks solid.
3. The majority of our best players aren't playing!

The side that played the 2016 World T20 final is below -

Roy, Hales, Root, Morgan, Butler, Stokes, Ali, Jordan, Willey, Plunkett, Rashid.

So not playing in this series are Root, Ali and Stokes. You could add to that now Woakes and possibly Bairstow. Plus we have found that Malan is a very good T20i player.

So not all bad.

Sorry how is that rubbish. Munro broke the back of the chase in the first 6 overs. They required 8rpo thereafter -6.5rpo for the 175 target.
The next 6-7 overs saw the rate jump to 12s. They had plenty of firepower down the order to cruise to the 175 target

Go watch it again.. watch guptils approach and then how they as a team go about playing Rashid and Dawson. Munro only has one way. Then come back and suggest that their plan was to simply ensure they got 174.
