as Kookaburra own Readers you can add in the redback yvk...! (on a technicality)

The orders go independently for both the brands...

I would be inclined to drop GM and put Redback in....

Going back to the location of the retailer - if it is going to be a large physical store, you need to look at your sphere of influence (lets say up to an hour's drive for most customers) and consider you likely customers. If there was a large asian community you would need to have a leaning to that type of equipment, however if you are based in an area full of stock-brokers, lawyers and bankers with overflowing wallets you can go for the kind of "status" product they will pay for.

No location, for the purpose of this thread the store is at the end of your road and would stock every product made by your brand choice.

Yash was the first person to spot you will need to think about balls.

I'd go for

1. Newbery - Bats, Softs
2. Mongoose - Bats
3. Kookaburra - Bats but for me mainly softs
3. Puma - Softs more than the bats
4. Adidas - All around but there for the spikes for me
5. Aero - Thigh Guards, Box
6. Warsop - Bats
7. Laver and Wood - Bats
8. Ayrtek - Best helmets going :)
9. Bradbury - Love the bats and softs
10. Nike - Spikes and whites and baselayers, up and coming imo
11. SS - Just generally a great brand all around! Dont they do balls??
12. Salix - Love the bats and softs, bit pricey hence why its number 12!

Good in theory as Redbacks are just so good but in practice I think you would sell less bats as a result.

1. Newbery-Argueably press their bats the best in the world so cant go wrong in the bat department. Also do a very nice range of soft goods.

2. Aero-Something for the more modern cricketer, do a range of thigh pads and bags that are top quality.

3. Warsop-Simply fabulous prices for such quality gear and bats. Once again another brand that handmakes in the UK. Provide a range from bats to soft goods and protection

4. Redback-Pretty much as the above, quality gear.

5. Masuri-Having used their helmets, they one of the best. Solid Protection

6. Asics-Great comfy footwear as used by pros. The best footwear in my eyes...

7. Readers-Would provide match balls for local clubs etc.

8. Canterbury-Light and comfy matchwear and under skins.

9. Oakley and sunwise eyewear-Every cricketer has got to have a pair! its a must!  ;)

10. Mongoose-Talked about lots, appeal lots to young cricketers and someone who likes to look a bit more modern. Similar to the aero post.

11. Nixon cricket-make great bats (have used) and again are another UK hand made brand.

12. SS-something different to the other brands, but still in my eyes, great prices for such quality gear.

If a new retailer was to set up tomorrow what brands would they need to stock, backed up with a reason you would want that product in the range. The retailer could only stock products from 12 brands and all would have to be off the shelf products from existing brands worldwide. The companies finished list would have to cover every aspect of kit from shoes and socks to helmets.

How about a top 10 brands, then we could start a shop based on the best 10....

1, Talisman, why the hell not....
2, Ayrtek, nice lids
3, Adidas, nice spikes
4, Instinct, so good I wear their gloves without being paid
5, Tiflex, the bowler needs help these days
6, Hell4Leather, top branding and Matt will buy the beers
7, Sareen Sports, they make some damn fine softs
8, Oakley, glasses look great on my face, sadly my face looks a fat mess
9, SAF, pioneers of the transportation blag and just about the best guys to talk willow with
10, Kicking Horse, sadly gone bust after running up a Krispy Kreme account they simply couldn't pay....

GN - Their retro gear is the best on the market
SAF
SG - First official UK outlet/supplier?
