After my first 50 for my club last weekend I followed it up with my 1 and only century ever this weekend. The opposition was not the strongest and only had 9 but we were 4 down for about 50 runs and on the verge of self destruct so I was pleased to dig in, concentrate on working the ball into the gaps and keep the score ticking over.

The opposition were a brilliant example of how to maintain a fun environment in the field and I have to say a young lady (who plays Staffordshire level junior cricket) took an unbelievable catch on the long off boundary but unfortunately as she held it she took one step too many and put her foot over the rope.... It deserved my wicket and it would have been a catch just about anyone I have ever played with would have been proud off... ok I wasn't out but with ability like that such a young age it was great to watch.

we bagged all the points but more than a full win off the promotion spots at the moment.. but still have the top 3 to play so fingers crossed.

We played with 10 as nobody had told the 11th man he was playing... schoolboy or what!?

Played 2nds due to poor availability this week.  Won the toss to bowl first.  Bowled nicely and got a big wicket to get a guy out for 57.   They set 234 for 7.  Went out to open the batting after tea in light drizzle and faced the quickest bowler I've seen in a couple of years, he was all ego so it was nice to tap one through extra cover for 4, and then smack a short one over point.  Rain got worse, came off, then went back out when it was STILL raining for one over, drove the bowler for two 4s over his head and then went off again!  After a load of fannying around, captains shook hands.

Very enjoyable and damp... 37 not out with 7 boundaries out of 56/0 off 15.  Partner was on 8! #hoggingthestrike

Now the club's leading run scorer this season... duck next week then!!!

Won the toss and bowled on a damp green track today. The oppo racked up 220 thanks to their overseas and a first teamer. Only let 2 byes past with the gloves and also took a catch which isn’t bad considering I’m Ill and was seeing about 3 balls for most of the game!

Then opened the batting (as our captain put it: get it out of the way before you’re sick) made 15 off 51. I faced about 30 dot balls in a row and felt so weak I couldn’t hit it off the square. I was literally trying to get myself out but I wasn’t even good enough to do that today! The oppo were pissing themselves at how badly I was struggling, before finally my partner put me out my misery and ran me out! We fell about 100 short

Also saw a hilarious temper tantrum from their grumpy wicketkeeper when he let through 4 byes down leg side off my batting. It was only a foot or so down leg, but he was adamant it was wides not byes and kept moaning at our umpire! I’ve never seen a keeper have a breakdown and ask for an extra run to be added just to protect his keeping figures! It was equally pathetic and funny to see a grown man throw a strop over letting byes through!

I hate it when the bowler gets away with filth down the legside.

We won again today which pushed us into second in the league. Our home pitch has been a little suspicious recently so won the toss and bowled. We had them 38-6 and a guy we dropped 5 times got a ton and they finished on 190.

Chased it down for 4 wickets in 31 overs. Odd side in that they have 2 or 3 of the best players in the league but they are really struggling.

Opened the batting for the 5th time and got 27 in a partnership of 110. Averaging 30 opening, which is no different from at any point in last 5 years, boringly consistant.

2 games to go and we are second, leading third by 4 points. We have them next week and the. the run away winners the week after. A win is only option next saturday. Its frustrating because we had two away games rained off when everyone else played at the bottom two clubs. Really frustrating if that costs us promotion.

Squeeky bum time. Club has some exciting opportunities for new players and a second ground for next year but i feel it will be easier to pull off from another division up.

Lightning does strike in the same place twice as having taken my first catch of the season (at first slip) last Sunday, I stood in exactly the same place today and took another catch off the same bowler. Mind you I am dropping the next one off his bowling as he then had the cheek to complain that about my catching style. The match itself was washed out during the tea break.

I hate it when the bowler gets away with filth down the legside.

Took my first wickets of the season on Sunday against a touring side in a friendly.

First one was an absolute pie of a delivery. Short of a length, pitching on leg - would have been a wide if the batsman hadn't had an almighty slog at it and nicked it ever so slightly. Keeper stuck out a giant left paw and caught it.

Cue the entire team erupting in laughter - shi*t takes wickets!

Ended up 3-45 from my spell of 5 overs. Expensive but plenty of room for improvement!

Opposition conceded so once again got a game in the player pool. On arrival, skipper asked me whether I batted or bowled, said prefer a bat so fielded while the opposition were bowled out for just 42. Tea was decent but as I am going into the changing room assuming I am opening or going in 3, skipper tells me I am batting at 8.  In fairness, if he had put me at No.5, I wouldn't have got a bat as target was reached in less than 10 overs for the loss of just 2 wickets but that's one club I won't be pooling for again.

That skipper sounds like an (No Swearing Please)!

have finally found some form with the bat, last 4 games 96* 15* 70 & 58. its a shame my body is starting to fall apart towards the end of the season, knee looks like an elephants and back getting steadily worse.

only 5 or 6 games to go this year then I can get the knee sorted and rest my spine. most of it is my own fault for trying to play golf in the morning and cricket straight after

Another duck and another loss, but a good 9 over spell and an absolute screamer at short fine leg for me last Saturday.

Wet wicket, batted 11, first ball kicked up and my back foot defensive ended up being spliced and caught by cover diving in. Opposition chased down our 168 in the 44th over of 45. We haven't won since June, last 3 weeks we have Haywards Heath, Three Bridges and Billingshurst, all of whom are well above us in the table, and we realistically need to win a couple of them as Bexhill play Lindfield this weekend and they are the two teams below us. I think the best result for us from that is Lindfield winning as they are 10th by a distance, whereas we are about 12 points above Bexhill.

45 players available for 2 games on a sat inweek 1 not including any proper juniors, 18 this week including a few playing their first game. Ridiculous levels of commitment, its not like people haven't had a game over the season as we have been good at sharing it out but just some people only want to play when it suits them. Frustrating
