A pretty poor standard of before and after shots as I was so excited to get going that I�d done a round of sanding long before the first photo but

Became these.

Also finished off restoring these two �beauties� for the bat cave wall.

*All grips to be sorted at a later date.

Top work, looks like the bat room's in full swing then!

Remembered I forgot to post the after of this, toe went back together a treat. Teammate wanted to keep the stickers so after gluing a few little face cracks up and a sand it's ready for a scuff.

Picked this up a while ago and did nothing with it until now. Pen marks over it and the face was used as a hammer. Deciding if to paint the scoop a different colour or re do red?

Picked up a GM Noir from eBay last week with Pryzm stickers. Wasn�t in overly bad condition. No scuff so 4 or 5 edge cracks but only surface and some toe damage.

Cracks have all had watered down Gorilla glue added into the areas as well as the toe and then clamped and left for 48hrs.

Today has had sanding through 180 and 240 grit and will be hand sanded with a 300grit wet and dry before a oil or polish if I can get hold of a new polish pad for my orbital sander. Pretty simple refurb but pleasing to be doing something cricket related.

Looks good but wet and dry paper shouldn�t be used on wood, you may find it leaves grey marks.

Always used it and I use it dry and has never left a mark before, it�s a wet and dry specifically used for carpentry that a carpenter I play with recommended years ago as uses it to fine finish hand made furniture etc.

Currently mid-way through my first attempt at a refurb with one of my club's old team bats. It hadn't been very well looked after so had to glue quite a few cracks in the toe but otherwise it was in reasonably decent nick.

Removed the stickers as they were pretty tatty and peeled off the old scuff which was a mess. Have started sanding, so far been over the bat with 120 and 180 grit.

Can anyone with more experience recommend whether it's worth going beyond 240, particularly for something that is going back into the club bag? Planning to give it a once over with fine steel wool and linseed oil post-sanding then add some tape to the toe and edges.

Probably not. Though your work will be seen by all the members of the club and it�s easy to gain a reputation and difficult to lose one. So, the better the job you do the greater your reputation will be.

240 is still a bit rough isn't it?

I'd go to at least 400 personally, but I'm saying that having gone up to 3,000 on my last refurb...

Bit OTT. I sharpen tools at 2000grit.
Personally 240grit is perfectly adequate so long as you were patient with sanding at coarser
Grits first.
