Here's one I did in a spare hour yesterday. It started as a polyarmoured GM Cannon, which nobody likes any more. So I removed the armouring from the blade and it has come up nicely. Good grains, if a little wavy at the toe. Definitely better uncovered. It pings a lot better as well without the covering. One thing though, polyarmour really does preserve the wood underneath. No darkening or stains evident. It's a massive 3lber with a great middle.
