Yes very,  and from Bristol?  :)
He is indeed, and a nice kid too - well known around the local scene here. Has had a cracking start to his first class career!

Good to see a few more potential England candidates in the runs than in the first round, all up for grabs you suspect. Wouldn't rule Hildreth out!

To the forumites who watch Surrey regularly, I see that Matt Dunn played and got a couple of wickets in the 2nd innings, how has he progressed? I remember watching him a few years ago and he looked a decent prospect but haven't heard much about him since then.

Decent player, will probably play alternative matches with Meaker and Durnbach. Strong action. Was expensive today but got the key wicket of Northeast.
Not sure he will go all the way, but will be a good county pro.

Injuries have pretty much hampered him, he's still quick but nowhere near as rapid. Delighted to see him back in around the side though, we need all the bowlers to chip in like this did this weekend

Is it not likely that the first choice seam attack might be the two Currans, Morkel and Clarke?

Of course if you were making a case against Kolpaks...

Tricky - I don't want to be too harsh on Surrey, when they have improved in that regard in recent years. But....

I don't think we'll see much of Tom as far as four day cricket is concerned right now; IPL now, probably comes back and straight into the Eng/Aus LOI series, then the Blast. Good chance for Dunn as well as Meaker to compete for a place.

Saw Morne on the outfield a few times over the weekend with his young kid; a very quick chat, but a very nice man.

I like Tom Curran, but he's far from the finished article. It seems a shame that he is being pushed down the one-day specialist route.

Is he? Just because he has an ipl deal doesn’t mean he’s been pidgeon holed as a white ball only player, he only made his test debut this winter and with a good summer I think he’ll play a few more yet, especially if he can gain a bit of pace

He only wound up making a test debut because the series had gone and there were about fifteen other seamers ahead of him who were injured. If there's any part of his game I want him to work on, it's being far less gobby than he currently is

I think that is the point - he is perhaps not a first choice int he one day formats, but he is certainly a first choice reserve.  In Tests, he does not do any one thing well enough to be more than a back up pick, and I would rather if we were going to pick 82mph right armers we went for craftsmen who have at least got significant Championship wickets behind them like Jamie Porter and Ben Coad.

I just meant his one day commitments (highlighted by someone else) would mean he might not get to do the hard yards in the CC that would improve him as a bowler.

like cut of Northeast`s jib/gib and his ability to bat long...likewise Luke Wells who also bowls tidily

I agree. It’s shocked me not to see Luke Wells’ name not crop up once or twice for test honours
