19 wickets (as I speak) falling on Day 1 is absolutely farcical

Replacement opener required for left handed who likes a cut, can go long periods without scoring many but then cashes in big when he hits form? Step forward Chris Dent.

Mitchell to open the batting for England this winter is a ridiculous idea, as is Bell. They haven't dropped Jennings and he does have a test ton in India, so it'd be a surprise if first test Jennings and Burns don't walk out together. Backup is obviously needed, preferably versatile as England don't like taking many spare batsmen on tour, and preferably right handed as our top 3 will all be lefties. Denly gives an extra spin option which brings him into contention, expect Vince will go as he could be an opening candidate if required. Then there's probably only one spot left, likely from the army of spare keepers - Pope/Clarke/Foakes. Oh and 1.5 spots need to be reserved for Samit!

So Lancs 119/7 a lead of just 26, as Leach takes his 10th wicket of the match before Lunch on the 2nd day!

Lots of talk about the pitch, but is it that or poor batting, good bowling, combination of all 3?

Guess we'll see what the umpires/referee say with the pitch report.

In other news, Morne Morkel is lovely

The CC has been absolutely loopy over the last few days! Sides are struggling to get 125-150.

The bounce at Taunton seemed fairly consistent when I was down there this morning. It seems to be doing a bit off the seam and taking spin.

Bonkers game, think Somerset probably have enough in the tail to do it, one of Gregory or JOverton to have a bit of a slog to try and see them home while the rest block I'd guess.
