I think , I'm not sure to be honest thou, we got success as a leggie in that England took note

But he is a batsman first to my knowledge and always was really. We have persisted with spin as a part time thing for ages,

I've always thought myself it's more specialist like Swann,Panesar,Edmunds,Embury etc

So if your picking a spinner you need a real wicket taker.

Or if they can't take wickets block up an end.

They need a craftsman. That could be a Paul Harris/Herath type who prides themselves on blocking an end dead or a Swann who bowls with menace. Just not a part timer.

The best bet for me is Dom Bess. Turns it, attacks the stumps. Leach is almost there - though post remodelling his action he has not ripped it as much (I think this is a confidence issue)

James Harris, 5/9 off 5.2! Not that long ago he was being tipped as the next England all rounder, down the pecking order now. Think it was the last NZ tour he was called up but didn't play.

He's always been linked with England and not sure why, he doesn't seem consistently put these performances in and doesn't always even play or bowl much for middlesex, had some injury problems too. Seems a waste really

I think half the problem has been that he starts a season strongly, then seems to get injured, someone comes in and performs strongly and he doesn't get back in. Pretty sure he is another who lost pace after working at Loughborough, used to be high 80s when he broke into Glamorgan squad but mostly low now.

To be fair he was opening the bowling for Glamorgan from the age of 17, I’m surprised he can still walk let alone get through a season injury free

and 9-4. Lancs also lost 9-22 today, guessing it's doing a bit!

Consider yourself lucky that Fred Trueman is neither alive, nor a member of CBF.

Pretty sure he is another who lost pace after working at Loughborough, used to be high 80s when he broke into Glamorgan squad but mostly low now.

Other way around, he was always a medium pacer who seamed the ball around. England came calling, tried to make him quicker and he lost the movement and ended up injured.

A couple of season ago he decided to stop trying to bowl fast and just stick to what made him successful to begin with. I remember reading this a couple of years ago and he made it clear that he wasn't a fan of the coaching system in place...
