We can thank Ryan Sidebottom for his work with Sam for that...

Just to note that Morkel was 12th man today and having a few words with him every now and then after a wicket had gone. Something worked!

Also Leach has broken his left thumb, I'm really hoping they don't rush in with Virdi...

Just a couple of days after an interview with Michael Vaughan that none of the Eng u19 players play county cricket.
I suspect he will be on the radio next saying what a great player Sam is... argh.
Sorry, should have said Virdi...

spent an enjoyable day at the cricket yesterday down at Taunton. Bess' innings was superb to watch. Hildreth's dismissal was dissappointing but he had so much time to play the ball. Amazed he hasnt had a call up

Watched Vince and Amla in the evening session and they were both a class above

great days play

Who knows, he might get 6 months of Tests and average about 20?

I say leave him where he is, but feel sure "why, oh why?" will start soon.

Anyway, not an England thread...

Against a reasonable bowling attack too.

Getting a little concerned with young Renshaw's form...we might have a situation where an Australian opener can actually play against the moving ball...

Elsewhere Ben Duckett's stock continues to fall. How he was billed as the 'English Warner' I'll never know. Nothing more than a fat slogger.

An absolute jaffa from Morkel. Should still be playing test cricket.
