Whey you are blocking/defensive it feels like your hands are stuck to your waist and everything is a little jittery. When you play more aggressively your hands open up and you look much smoother.

agreed, Cam can look quite tentative when he chooses to defend.

maybe try to defend more aggressively? really commit to the defensive shot and play it with purpose in the same way as you play attacking shots

The danger of doing this is that I may start pushing at the ball again, I've spent a fair amount of time trying to defend with soft hands and don't want to fall back into bad habits.

Fair enough if that's the case, def worth having different methods for different types of bowler, but also def worth paying attention to if you're not doing it deliberately - could easily get you into trouble.

Practice playing with a straight bat and that will help with shot alignment and power generation. Just play with a straight bat and you will notice a shift in your body position and alignment.

Just my opinion, but looks like your front foot movement is closing yourself off quite a lot and would make playing through the leg side harder, and may make balance at the crease when playing to leg tougher.

Best shot imo is about the 1:40 mark where you advance, really commit to the shot and get your hands cleanly through the ball, like some of the previous comments I think you look at your best when playing aggressively.

From the footage Cam your have a very rigid finish to all your shots which for one will impact the power you get into your shot. Secondly if you look at when you have played the shot nearly every time your foot are both outside leg stump so it appears even though you have a trigger movement to get in line I assume? You actually back away and finish playing quite a lot of the time with the bat away from the body.

Hard to tell from the bowling but unless everything was back of a length very little forward pressing with the aim to play on the front foot. You look like a tall chap so make the most of your height.

I second this from Chris, there are shots that you aren�t attacking that you are just proving at from neither in the front or back foot. I think from the videos I�ve seen of you cam that you may struggle picking up length a little.
Personally I think you need to work on trying to identify a length quickly and then committing to either front or back foot.
As I say, there is some shots you�re playing from a middle ground and just patting back that you could either play a back foot punch/ cut, or even just run to thirders for a 1

More of the 1.40 mark, pick the length, and commit to the shot, and knock the f%%%%% out of the ball

YOU do this very well, I�ve seen you do it, your a big powerful hitter
You do this more often and bowlers will fear you, as will fielders,,,you�ll possibly enjoy your batting more, and maybe score some decent scores

Then again, I�m just a northern slogger, what do I know.

Funny you mention this, the bowler actually had an imaginary field set of:
Slip, point, extra cover, mid on, mid off, mid-wicket and a man on the 45, with a sweeper on the off and leg side.
That imaginary field did influence some of my shots as there was an "easy single" square on the leg side
