Not that I totally disagree with you; however, I think there is also a hit or a miss probability when it comes to splitting it. Bat could split due to being dry but chances of splitting are much hire when it's not pressed reasonable enough.

The bat which originally started this thread has been quite an extensively used in the last 4 months. At least 3 batsmen (friends) in my team use this bat in every innings. There are times when I wasn't able to play with it because the batsman on the other end was playing with it and he happened to be the top scorer of the season. However, the bat is well alive and kicking some a$$ without any problem. The only thing got worn off is the grip - which I have changed.

this aint their top grade at all.
Here is what i bought from them and for 20000pkr but difference is i did not ask them to give me 2lbs 6 oz bat with 40mm edges and 66mm spine and spine into the toe along with full profile.
Be the judge yourself, although i might not be the biggest fan of AS but defaming a brand without taking a deep look into other factors is unfair.

I will probably ask cooper cricket here in Brissie to reduce some weight. Does someone has experience on reducing weight??? I it will be good for if it weighs 3 ounces less

Mine's arrived, must say this thing really surprised me for the price I paid!

At $60, well worth it. 11-12 grains, with some quirky dark line right in the middle

Heartwood on one side, 40+ mm edges with some concaving, feels a lot lighter than 2lb 9oz.

But boy does this thing ping! massive forgiving middle. Must say real soft pressing, so will require some knocking in. You will see seam marks when I bounced the ball, if you zoom in on the 1st pic.

I will oil it tonight, so may be will gain an Oz. If this thing lasts even a season, would be well worth it.

Looks nice, it is a quality bat. These are best value bats. Based on past experiences, I reckon longevity of AS bats will be ok. The only concerning thing is that they have zero regard for customers specs.

Mine is here as well, but the cleft does not look like a top end cleft.

I have dropped an email to them and awaiting for their response.

It is quite close to the specs I asked for baring the skinny round handle (I have started putting tape on it to bring it to desired shape), but quality for cleft is not good no way near a g1.

Will try to post pics later.

I am not saying that its good or bad for that money, my point is this cleft does not look like a top end cleft.
I specifically asked for a cleft with no heartwood and as I said I think they did good job when it comes to the profile and specs.

They could have easily told me that they do not have a cleft that matches my requirements and we could have negotiated. And I requested for Pics multiple times.
As a consumer, I believe the maker/seller should have been truthful when it comes to online and international purchase, It's very similar to going to a tailor and asking for a blue jacket and he comes up with a black one, or one with a totally different size (Analogy is not straight but i guess you can get my point)
Then would you have been saying the same thing. They could have told this to me upfront that this cleft has a heartwood and we could have negotiated form there.

I guess this is a way how a good or a honest business works.

Exactly my point, how can a company or a manufacturer with such credentials put their of best in the range for such an end product.
I am still awaiting their reply may be that's what they consider it Pro grade or low density I am still open for a conversation with them.

I do not understand why people are stuck with the cost here, Please try to understand they are marketing them as pro level or top of the line bats.

But I guess it's not that bad to be G4, but certainly not a G1

It all depends on how they grade their bats. Are they graded on performance or looks?

It is not about cost but what I don�t understand is people expectations are unrealistic. Expecting 12-15 grains clean cleft for this cost is unrealistic. To me, these are good Bats for the price point.
