Quote
50% less energy was felt at the top of the WAVEX handle, rather than travelling to the handle, this energy was re-directed to the ball impact point
is what it states.
I'm ok with the first clause in that...

a number of the England team have been using them over the last couple of years and all our pros we sponsor use them. as for the testing we tested two bats one with a straight handle and one with a waxev handle and as the results showed The power ratio when measured in reference to angular ball speed (the amount of force striking the bat) is significantly greater with the waves over the bat without the waves. Higher dampening of vibration waves in all axis tend to indicate more energy transfer from the bat to the ball. We conclude from our tests that the wavex design significantly improves the power ratio of the bat by up to 50% you can check our results on our website

Graham Thorpe was rumoured to have liked one, going way back.

Could be that the number of England players is 1.

Anyway, don't let this turn into a witch hunt, I just want to know more, always fascinated by companies who are prepared to try new things with their bats, rather than just design shinier stickers and polish the bats for longer.

with it being a kippax product not all other companies let there international players have them but in the ashes there was 4 players on wavex and and 3 with straight handles never had any negative feedback and ever one of our pros joined the kippax brand previously using straight handles but was easy converted and never looked back.

I remember David Curtis doing a blog on these and digging up an old, similar patent. I love how 2 very distinct ideas, from centuries apart, are similar in concept. No idea if/how the tech works but nice to see something different.

They must have been convinced that worked given how much longer it would take to hand make over a standard handle! Great post @Tom

if you look in majority of others sports the wavex handle is used by major companies like golf tennis hockey to name a couple. theres been big cricketing branding wanting to buy the pattern off us but for kippax this is a big selling point that no one else in cricket has.

So the player's sponsor has to actually approve a different manufacturer's product being used?

some brands are very uptight about there sponsors and where they get there equipment from a lot of the county players dont use bats made by who they are sponsored by because nearly every big brand now get all there bats imported from oversea so you tend to get players contacting you after blank bats so they know they are getting the best quality equipment possible.  so if theres a wavex handle in there bat its easy to tell that its a kippax and not what the stickers are on the bat so the bigger name players get told that they have to use the straight handle for advertising and promotion reasons

If the brands are fully aware that this is going on, we are definitely moving into Trading Standards territory - as our friend Paul Aldred suggests in one of his videos.

I thought Indian bats were highly thought of nowadays?

Are Wavex handles available to bat makers in the USA?
