Skill was not what my opening post was about so am unsure of the relevance of the original reply.

Important to us is to deliver consistency and quality, and our World leading processes and people do just that.

Kind regards

Edward

Your saying made by englands best, in england, with the best willow.

They're made by computer dxm/milling, without regard to variations in willow(all made same shape)- they could be made using this process anywhere in the world and be the same. Willow supplys to GM and overseas comes from the same suppliers in many cases, its all the good stuff.
Obviously custom made bats can be made to measure and to a players ideal profile etc. Until. GM can allow customers to order dxm machined custom spec bats they wont provide bats as ideal as hand made companys.

Oh yea, also theres they annoying thing where people cant specify a weight when buying?

Yup, all facts.  :D

They're made by computer dxm/milling, without regard to variations in willow(all made same shape)- they could be made using this process anywhere in the world and be the same.

Nope. We use CAD/CAM intelligently where it is appropriate. All of our bats have substantial care and time in the hands of very skilled GM craftsmen and women. We find that when people have been around the factory and actually seen how we make bats, what our processes are and how much skill and care is put into each cleft of timber, they appreciate a lot more what we are all about.

Willow supplys to GM and overseas comes from the same suppliers in many cases, its all the good stuff.

Not really. Increasingly we use our own sourced timber to further improve consistency and quality for our customers.

Obviously custom made bats can be made to measure and to a players ideal profile etc.

We don't do custom made bats for retail sale, quite true. What we do do is place a fantastic range of bats in the hands of trained, quality cricket retailers for individuals to touch, feel, pick up, swish and fall in love with. In our view that has a lot of advantages over selecting from one custom made bat that may not feel quite how you thought. What happens if you don't really hit it off with your custom made bat?

Kind regards

Why does it always turn into a slanging match on here? :(

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to let us know when your new range will launch @Edward Lowy
I for one can't wait to see what you're going to release, roll on October 17th :)

This forum is becoming a bit of a joke when one of the biggest bat companies in the world with over a century of experience gets nit picked on for comments regarding how they produce bats and why they think they are the best.
Regarding the custom option 99% of players can have what they think is best for them but actually not have the skill to utilise it properly anyway.

Thanks for taking the time @Edward Lowy - always a highlight of the new season kit launches, especially when there's someone like yourself going to the trouble to come and answer questions about it on the forum! Bit of a late request but don't suppose you'd fancy releasing your helmets in black? :D

Absolutely not a problem from my side - love talking about what we do, tend to play with a very straight bat and accept that sledging comes with the patch. Truth is, we love to hear from folk about cricket, GM, etc. I listen a lot.

Best wishes

Would love to hear from more people, not less. So important for us to listen.

We do appreciate that there are many ways to make bats. We just do it the best way...

Simple vanity - I rather like the look, and it's also my club colour so I'd like to match!

I was thinking the exact same. People will hide behind the excuse that it is a public forum meant for discussion, but the way people approach these discussions is like they are looking for a fight all the time. Over the years I have learnt so much on this forum, but this trend of attacking everyone and everything is ridiculous.

I look forward to seeing the upcoming range and thanks @Edward Lowy for the heads-up on the launch.

@Edward Lowy , which 2019 bat range is designed for bat-speed and T-20 style batting? Shorter blade and mid/mid-low sweet spot, with big edges and thick toe?
