Weren’t the signatures initially for 5 star dealers only?

I will ask the question though!
808 range is the 5 star dealer exclusives

Looks like the James Vince players profile is the exact same as the Ben Stokes profile - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPvUW0JRREo

Also seems like regular SH blade, not the short blade as the regular diamond.

Not sure if anyone seen yesterday on the coverage of the T20. Nasser has ben stokes 2019 bat in the diamond edition (can tell as it had his red bull sponsor), but he still came out with his Zelos. I would think GM would say you need to sue the 2019 stuff

Now question is why GM doesn't make those same shapes for regular players. The shapes seem wonderful and the same shapes can be made across grades with some reduction in edges/spine due to lower grade willow as needed while keeping the shape. Honestly, I think that would still beat any of the shapes GM currently has for 2018 or 2019 despite the claim that the 2019 range is the best ever.

For e.g. have same few different ranges with same shape each as vince/stokes, de kock, travis head and vary the grades. I would think that would be a tremendous marketing tool also if they did it. Maybe Lowy can throw some light on this on why this is not done.

Also... maybe, just maybe, the shapes used by some of the world's most talented cricketers, who bat on the flattest tracks against the most rapid of bowlers, don't translate that well to clubbies? Just a thought.

Some of the most aesthetically pleasing shapes are the high middle sweeping shapes which are great if you are playing against real pace on bouncy tracks but not so well suited to club cricket on slower lower tracks.  The low-middle clubs may not be the best looking bats ever made but they are better suited to the conditions faced by the club cricketer.

I am proper village - I could not overstate my level of village.
And I play on village wickets.
And I once bought into the low middle for English wickets wisdom.
I bought a lovely M&H Original low and didn’t middle a ball all season.
I discovered that the truth is I hit the ball higher up the bat than I expected.
I suspect many of us do - regardless of the “low slow” perception of our wickets

It's mainly nothing to do with the wickets to be fair, it's more about how you play. The biggest problem with those old school club type shapes is they mess with your timing, as you found out!

They are pretty much a chunky straight blade Zelos so you can argue GM have already done what you ask. There's a Zelos Original in the forum for £100 and it shockingly hasn't sold so maybe the demand isn't there even amongst us geeks.

All the others are tweaks of past and present shapes which I guess have fallen in and out of favour with the wider buying public (Head- Flare, De Koch- Paragon/ Icon).

I don't think the zelos is similar to any of the pics above, it has higher middle, concaving, duckbill variation etc.  Also, earlier player shapes might not be of interest to public today such as the flare/icon but the current pro shapes would very much be of demand and moreover if they were marketed as being exact shape of the player, then there ll be more interest. Not like the Stokes endorses short blade diamond when the shape he actually uses is far apart from that.

Cross between a tendulkar and an icon.
That is a winning shape!

Just spotted this as an exclusive model at AllRounder. Last years Hero was a mid-high l540 blade bat but this year they've gone lower and come up with a pretty unique GM shape, kind of like a low middle Icon/ Paragon. Looks like chunky shoulders and a juicy spine. Zooming in on the sticker on the back suggests l555 this time too.

Looks like a good 'un for those that like to give the ball a decent whack :) Looks rather lovely if you ask me

is this the 909? as on the pictures it says signature LE
