Reading this I agree about the signatures being great value for money bats

So I think when the signature noir is available or diamond signature I may have a look

Anyone spot keen prices so far

Think these bats are bigger as no concaving, which most ppl want. Ppl would favour low density over high density. Usually top bats are hand made with more care from good willow so its hard to untangle individual factors contributing to superior performance.

Not if they've got bat gauges to worry about?

The best value for money branded bats can be purchased online or from 1 of the 586 Sportsdirect stores which allow buyers to walk in and pick up and feel the pings on offer and leave with a bargain.

But then forum members would never be caught dead walking into a Sportsdirect store  :)

The bat with the best ping I ever bought cost me £50 from sports direct. I used it the day after buying it and scored a ton. The next game was the last game of the season and I scored 36* off 20 balls with some huge 6s.

It then broke the first time I used it in winter nets, so overall, not the best bat I've owned, but still, 136 runs not out for £50.

Clearly from their 'pressed for immediate performance not to last' section.

Bought a size 6 slazenger (wrapped in some plaster tape) for my brother when he was a junior... it was awful!
he replaced it with a harrow from Raje sports which was way better and only cost £50 I think (was a while ago). Proper English willow.  - which I suspect was an RNS Larsons as Raje sports and RNS stickers looked the same but had the name changed.

Sort of agree with you in that if a guy whom is pressing bats is face with a cleft that cost a lot he's liable to make sure he does the best he can to ensure performance is good in pressing the bat.  Like most have said though, a good presser will do each one (or at least most) perfectly and consistently.  Not sure I agree with you about concaving as it is one means of balancing a bat - to me performance and pick up are equally important - looks far less so.
