Sri Lanka  ODI team are a side in disarray near the bottom of the international  ODI table 14 openining partnerships in two years and no batter who can win them matches after the top 5.
Plenty Talented youngsters  coming through but not ready yet.
If England stick with a varied bowling attack leg spinner left armer etc regardless of who they pick as seamers  they should win easily.

Dawson is a decent bat and has been in good white ball form domestically.
For some reason he doesn't look the same batsman in an England shirt as he does for Hampshire
Yes that was my point - much as he does a decent job as a spinner, Dawson's strong batting must be a factor in him getting picked over specialist spinners who outperform him domestically with the ball. He batted rather well on test debut iirc, but batting at 8/9 in one or two England games a year doesn't give him much of a chance to shine to be fair.

I’ve seen that Rashid delivery before in village cricket. Nearly bounced twice. Refreshing to see that as a clubbie

None and your not helping  :)

Got 3 in the last match.

With the new fielding restrictions, short boundaries and more aggressive batsmen seamers on flat decks are on a hiding to nothing

Although correct
Curran bowled  the way a seamer should on these decks mixed it up  well worth his 3 for 17  along with Rashids 4 wickets pulled it back for England after SL excellent start.

Yes Curran has some good one day skills , 3 wickets in this match. In the last match woakes 3-26 at a run rate of 5.25 per over

Both good performances nearly identical in games of reduced overs. So not much in the performance of the two players.
