Good work again! Re. falling over - it's all about your stance. When you're preparing to face the ball your head is already outside the line of your feet, so when you try to move to the ball your balance will only ever lead you to fall over. Get whoever's feeding the machine to surprise you by not letting one go and I bet you'd have to take a couple of steps to find your balance again. Easy to rectify by making sure your stance is more balanced, not leaning out towards off - just straighten up a little to make sure your head's in the right place.

Towards the back end of last season I seemed to have fixed this by pressing forward on my front foot. It made me a bit slower on my back foot but the cut shot is the only one I play on my back foot anyway.

I was a walking LBW for half of last season, then after I changed it up i made a couple of scores. Seem to have regressed though as I haven’t picked a bat up since the season end because I’ve been struggling with dizziness etc!

Think if I make a real effort to get back to my forward press stance I’ll be ok!

Cheers mate, appreciate the help!

Great work mate, that’s some serious effort to get from video 1 to the shots in video 2 in 12 months. Proves a point that sometimes instead of spending £££ on new kit that wont improve your game spend the money on coaching and the results are for anybody to see from this video.. Top effort mate and should be aiming for a TON with some of the shots you can play now compared to 12 months ago./

Fantastic videos @NT50, the difference between them is amazing you should be very proud of yourself :)

It's sacrilege on this forum but I think it's better to have 1-2 bats less and spend the money on coaching, it'll help you score way more runs than a new bat.

Keep up the hard work, it's certainly paying off!!

Didn't know where else to post this - but here's some footage of my bowling. Will try to take my tripod next time to get a better angle.

Moved back to bowling offies as my seam is very mediocre and i'd never really focused properly on bowling offies so i thought i'd add a string to my bow considering we don't have any spinners currently. This will effectively be my second season bowling offies.

Last year i could turn the ball massively, but would bowl 2 boundary balls an over. So over the last couple of weeks i've bowled in the nets and seemed to have settled on an action which means i can hit the right spot more often than not. Crucially, my bad balls tend to be a bit too much width / too full rather than a horrible longhop that doesn't threaten the batter.

I still need to practice a lot more as the muscle memory isn't quite there yet, but i'm happy with how its going.

Looks pretty decent to me mate, getting a nice bit of turn on a few of those. There's an ECB coaching video on YouTube that has a few useful tips if you've not seen it before.

Nice bowling mate, consistency is key and like what you have said about the annoying boundary balls (everyone does it, so dont worry). No spinner myself but keep so spend a lot of time chatting to ours. Was always told they would prefer to bowl a ball too full if it's going to be a bad one rather than short so defintiely the right way of thinking.

Keep grafting away and be up for it first time you have the ball in your hand as we start playing. Lots of others wont have been in the nets on their own with ball in hand in March but you have been  :)

Cheers fellas! I’ve scoured the web for as much off-spin content as I can find and have generally found some stuff that worked and some that doesn’t.

Would be interested to see this but haven’t seen it online?
Cheers lads

@NT50 https://youtu.be/2BCva3DcByw - Just a short one mate but few useful tips. The Nathan Lyon masterclass on YouTube is pretty decent as well. Definitely some useful pointers for relative newbies!

Good batting progress!
think off spin bowling is more about consistency, not trying too many or too often, variations.

I don't have much cricket experience but I would like to see more of a run up than walking and delivering the ball. Secondly maybe bit of side on action than straight on bowling action.
Simply ignore me if it's crap advise.

Some useful stuff in there!

I don’t bother with a run up, it seems to make a minimal difference in terms of pace/spin and just throws me off balance.

Looks very good! Your run up is fine imo - you gather momentum at just the right time. Bowling the odd bad ball is not the end of the world. No shame in having some protection on the boundary - at the club level, a lot of batters will try and over hit bad balls, and the boundary riders can easily be in play.

Kudos for putting In the hard yards... and keep it up!
