SS vs DSC vs SG
« on: November 09, 2018, 01:25:22 PM »

Hello everyone,
So my friend who was supposed to bring me RS bat from India has ditched me lol and has refused to bring in a bat but is bringing BAS players edition gloves.
Although I love my RS bat but if i get one shipped shipping and fumigation is too high and is causing my budget to collapse.
I only have one bat atm ( sold 4, CA, H4L, AS and GN signature ) so need another spare bat just in case mine break mid season.
I am now considering off the shelf bats.
So in terms of pressing and performance which one would you rate higher than other?
I can get Aussie Kookas or GN but the price tag for a good performing bats are too high here.
If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to add.
Cheers

Any one of the sponsors on here (Red Ink, Hell4Leather, B3, Uzi etc.) will make or source you a very good bat to your specifications at a very good price compared to what you'd pay for an equivalent or even inferior bat from one of the big brands.
They'd be my first stop.

Postage to Aus is between £30 and £40 and import fees shouldn’t be an issue if the item is worth $1000 or less

Since July 1st 2018 , all imports ($1000 minimum no longer applies) are subject to 10% oz gst.

not quite...the only change is that overseas vendors totaling more than $75,000AUD worth of Australian sales per annum must self declare GST on Australian purchases...

i wouldn't think many of the smaller UK bat makers would be hitting those numbers...

From the list you posted

SG’s new line “Players Edition”, and “Player’s ultimate” are the best in my opinion.
Lovely profile, meaty build, amazing pick up”. I was very pleased with mine.

DSC is a hit or a miss deal.

And I am not a fan of how SS bats feel and pickup - and every model seem to have one same exact shape and profile.

Thanks
The sellers who have these listed on ebay, are they genuine bats?

Are you seriously saying that SG and DSC make bats with different shapes and profiles across their range? Standard shape and profile is the norm for all Asian bat manufacturers. The 'different shapes for different players' mantra only applies to UK brands.

Most of the Indian manufacturers have 1 generic profile across all their ranges for their off-shelf offerings.

And there is slight difference if the bat is marketed as specific player's profile.

DSC, I have definitely seen different shapes when I used them 10 years ago - they are probably now churning cookie cutter size one shape for all - I don’t really know.

SG? DEFINITELY a coupe of different shapes spread accross different models.
