back to the debate with the england side, having seen ow much it turns at edgbaston over the few games that have been there surely we must go in with somehitng liek this:

bairstow
ali (Roy if fit)
root
morgan
stokes
buttler
woakes
plunkett (ali if roy fit)
rashid
archer
wood
England
would be all round stronger if bag of tricks Curran came in for Woakes

Really?
Woakes has a better economy with the ball, is more useful with the bat and is a proven performer at this level. He is also in match practice.

I hardly think chucking someone in who hasn't played for 4 weeks is likely to improve the side that drastically. I would love for Curran to come into the side and prove me wrong though.

If you drop Woakes, you'd be disposing of the player with the most 4+ wicket hauls for England in ODIs, it's not easy to replace his experience which could be vital in a must win game.

In reality there's a stronger argument for dropping Mark Wood, but your obsessive loathing of Woakes seems to cloud your judgement.

You had to see it to believe that - Hope missed Dhoni twice in one ball.

Shocking from Hope missed a regulation stumping then just watched the ball and missed it again when he tried grabbing it with Dhoni having given up. Add salt into it he is that lazy Kohli calls him through for a single lol

India would be better off with Pant opening and Rahul at 4. Don’t see why they need Shanker and Pandya.

If Dhoni was any other player they'd have been dropped years ago, pathetic this

Dhoni all about the pay cheques rather than having any self respect

I remember specifically when they crashed out of the WT20 that if he felt he was of no benefit to the team he'd retire. Man only cares about himself.

Put yourself in his shoes - earning $30-40M a year. Why would you give that up?

Self respect vs money - seen players do far worse for money

He's still decent with the gloves, and is going okay in this - 30 odd at 70SR ain't too bad if he can pick up the pace now he's 'in'.  I'm not his biggest fan as a batsman, but he's a good player waning yet still being judged by his previously high standards.

Because the team he plays for is called India not MS Dhoni CC. He’s robbing better players the opportunity to play

Seems to have played well, according to conditions and the role given to him

I would disagree with this tbh. He hogged the strike from Kohli continually blocking everything. Eventually Kohli had to start hitting out earlier than he normally would, and it cost Kohli his wicket.
