Not to rain on the parade too hard, but didn't Hameed score boatloads at 2nd XI level last year?

Some yes, and despite the opposition, in the same game the current England opening bat got out for 30 something, and players of the calibre of Glenn Maxwell and Dane Vilas were gotten out cheaply.  Certainly a great start for him - such a good batsman to watch.

2 hundreds in 4 games I think, but the fact he made 150 on a day when no one else made it to 40 is an encouraging sign
