i am getting some weight reduced from my new AS bat, hopefully 4oz off from 2.11 to 2.7
The bat is big with 44mm max edges and 35mm max toe. So I think there is some excess fat
I have approached Cooper Cricket and Brisbane Bat Refurbishment. Anyone here dealt with them
before.
Need some guidance from people who have experience of getting weight reduced. I
Its a beautiful bat and don’t want it to be ruined.

Talk to that J P Gavan guy, may be?
With the bulk in the shape of these monsters, I think it’s possible to easily take off 3 Oz
You start off from the bottom and chisel the toe down 18 mm flat all across thus removing the spine up to three inches from the bottom up. That’s about an Oz
Then you trim down the edges to 35 mm and reduce the bulk by scalloping and creating a reasonable concaving.
That’s about another 2 Oz
And you end up with a 2.8
Otherwise, hit the gym and build some muscles to be able to enjoy playing with this beast.
And finally, the best option in my opinion.
You can also use this as a practice bat in the nets. Many, many international pros use a much heavier bat in the nets to strengthen their batting muscles which helps them increase the bat speed when they play with their actual and lighter match bats.
