Pittard Gloves 2019
« on: January 05, 2019, 09:49:28 PM »

I'm a huge fan of the feel of batting gloves with pittard palms. I currently have a pair of Newbery SPS (2017 range) which I find brilliant especially as I like the 'white-out' look - they're not cheap but they're going strong after 100+ innings and half as many nets.

However, from 2018 onwards Newbery's SPS gloves no longer have Pittard Palms - they're now sheep-skin leather! The Newbery Legacy range are pittards, though the palms look slightly different and they're not fully white sadly.

Does anybody have any recommendations for good quality pittard gloves? White-outs ideally, but can be swayed. Been looking around for some and the Keeley Superior seem to fit the bill - same price range as the SPS? Phantom, Przym etc look good but I haven't found any of the latter in local stores (SE London) so far.

Alternatively, if anybody knows where I could find Newbery SPS gloves from 2017 / before that would also be an option. Thanks in advance!

Or some forum sponsors 👋

I’ll have stock of the all white ones again by the end of the month, the palms have been updated to this type of pittards that is the most comfortable yet IMO. The below are my set of white and silver ones that I snapped some pics of the other day

Or if you happen to be MLH I’ve got stock of them now 👍

Piggybacking on this, does anyone know which brands are using the thinner, off-white diamond pittards for 2019? I prefer a thick handle but very thin palms on the gloves and I find the white, thicker pittards too spongy

Bump - any suggestions for 'cheap' pittards? Would love to try some out before investing in a good pair.

Best I've found are the Bradbury players, although am now using Ayrtek...which I feel offers better grip but not as great comfort as the Bradbury (but are still very comfortable!).

I do prefer Pittards Gripster or at least palms with a pattern on them like these...

The palms give superb grip and feel. Are there any other options out there that offer the same or similar?

Love my ones from @Ayrtek Cricket got the softs set from them and seems to be doing me well so far. Seem to be a similar kinda standard to the salix players ones if that helps.
