Adult 1 to 1 batting coaching...
« on: January 07, 2019, 03:58:52 PM »

Hi

After many years of pinch hitting I think i want to go through some proper coaching and try and have a consistent season before i retire.

Tried contacting John Sadler coaching in Ossett but no reply. Also am aware of teh Asylum, and have contacted Yorkshire CC as they have coaching available.

Any other coaches in the West Yorkshire area?  Really want to sort my batting out and learn (belatedly) to build an innings properly and get my batting polished off as reasonably as possible so late on.

I'd recommend the Cricket Asylum bud, and ask specifically for Scott. He's a very wise, knowledgeable coach and great bloke to work with

Call me biased cos i used to work there myself, but the use of pitch vision will be great for you too

Having had a load of coaching last winter, I can confirm it is 100% worth it and lots of fun!

How many sessions did you have? Did you feel it helped?

Got to be a better investment than a new bat is may take on it ... although in true CBF tradition I do have a new bat  :D ... but  keeping my trusty JEDI that in the end I couldn't bear to part with as my main bat.

There's David Wainwright who coaches at Headingley and at Stumps in Wakefield. Nice guy, played pro and knowledgeable too.

Hahaha you silly Billy. I could do with some coaching too tbh. There are a few people that coach at stumps. They most coach kids but I'm sure they would do adults too.

Thanks... Will give them a ring. Do the different coaches charge differently or same price?

Steve Lawrence at Lordswood in Tadcaster is a decent one and a nice guy. Has his own set up/nets/bowling machine. I know it's not West Yorkshire, but close enough.

PitchVision has good content but their customer service is bad. Also, PitchVision will remove (paid for) courses without any warning and not reimburse you.

They removed two courses which I paid for and never reimbursed me for them:

1. Graham Gooch batting course
2. Michael Bevan's course.

I sent many emails to Neil Fairbairn and David Hinchcliffe but no recourse.

I'd avoid purchasing any new content from PitchVision unless they provide anything resembling a customer service and not remove courses without warning their customers.

Horrible!
