I think you just had a bad experience and yes that can happen with any brand...like I had with GM but that doesn't make them necessarily that bad. Anyway one question to you which UK brand offers a G1 bat in £250? I bought a B3 LE last year, its great I must accept it but i had to pay £425 so the point is if you are looking for a bat which performs well, have all the looks and lasts long then be prepared to pay the price :)
There are lots of brands out there. Gm 909 bats are around that price point. Blank bats also have G1 bats for 250 quid and those are TK. and thats not the point. Even in pakistan itself there are much better brands like Mids and HS that have better looking bats for cheaper price. HS is essentially the same as Ca since the owners are both brothers.

Talking to me? No, not even one little crack anywhere on the bat! Had it since 2016, there's only a point of buying a top which takes up a season to get to his peak is, if there is already a bat that's going guns, otherwise even gn legend will be felt like a fail 🙂

I picked these 2 bats for a very good friend of mine in Australia. This is grade 1+ in my opinion. 400 Australian dollars/220 pounds approximately. Value for money considering the inflated prices these days.

Check out Marc’s(CricketBatInfo) review of the CA player edition 7 star from a few weeks ago as well. I sent that one as well. 40 edges, 67 spine hardly any concaving at 2.7.5 on the scales

These are the bats with high amount of grain on each of them consistently, don't think any other brand will win it on this, think most important is bat care, properly oiled, all bat areas knocked in, if no sheet then oil it regularly, a little bit, they're going to stay for long.

Well everyone has a right to their opinion. U guys backed yours with evidence and i backed mine with evidence too. So lets end it at that and agree to disagree. I dislike Ca and i have my reasons. there isnt much you can say or do to change my mind. Peace out

It's not to prove you wrong, you might be unlucky with them.
I'm not using ca 15000, wasn't happy with it's pickup, might be too high middle.
I'm gone over to mb malik bats, first I tried cheaper ones, very impressed with their pressing and liked their pickup, mid high, bought a few mb hpro, which are no less than sensation to me
So it's about the person using a stick, decides which cricket bat is most suitable to requirements. It can be £40 one or a top end one

Ultimately, a lot of this discussion comes down to the drying processes of the willow. In theory a lot of clefts can be made in to a bat at 40mm edges with 67mm spine at 2lb 7oz if they're completely dried out, but this will obviously lead breakages - which backs up most peoples opinion of CA. So, whilst their bats could be massive for the weight - the consistency of them lasting is dubious.

Never had a bad experience with CAs.. then again, I've only used the higher end models. I also spend a lot of time preparing them - oiling, boning/rolling the edges slowly, then moving very gradually to mallet work. given how sharp their edges are, it takes some time. Never found their bats to be over dry, and always been happy (except for the 5 springs in the handles - i prefer stiff handles).

I didnt know better then. I do now. And its not just that bat so its not a one off. The pattern is same with every single Ca bat i have come across. Delaminated edges, delaminated toes. Great ping but very poor longevity
I have 5-6 CA bats and I have scored majority of my runs with them and haven’t had any longevity issues. I am a realistic person I realize, I can’t expect huge bats with 2.8-2.9 weight. It is just asking for trouble. Plus, check the quality of the ball. Higher grade bats are softer pressed for quick performance.

And guess what out of about 15 of the ca bats i have seen in use there is a 100% occurance of delaminated edges and toe very very early in their life. Sometimes even while knocking in. Dont get me wrong they have all performed fantastic. But the durability of Ca bats is questionable at best.

A few comments:

- My league has lot of senior players who've been playing cricket for a long time. The oldest bats I see are the CAs and GNs. These bats are very well taken care of and their color has changed over time due to oiling. :D It is always nice to see those old bats with their old stickers.

- I have a M&H Amplus that I am told was made by Tim Keeley. That bat out of the box was pinging like a trampoline. M&H had knocked and boned the bat for me. That bat delaminated very quickly.

- My main CA, an SM autographed bat, lasted me 4 or 5 seasons, scored lot of runs and hit massive sixes . It is still good to go. It is delaminated and sounds funny but has some life in it. When knocking this bat, I was very hard on it with my mallet.

- My current match bat is a Keeley and it was machine knocked after my mallet job didn't help. It was a slow bloomer. :D Now that it is is all "grown-ed" up and kicking ass, I am noticing some delamination. In terms of hit range, this is by far the best I have used and it is delaminating after 1 full season.

- Old Kippax with dragon stickers delaminated as well even though it pings beautifully. My mallet job on that bat was pretty severe as well. This bat is the oldest I have and I didn't know to properly knock/prepare a bat.

- Another bat whose brand name rhymes with "performance free" is delaminating. This is the bat I designed, a 385 density cleft was used, and it was graded G1. This bat is so bad that no amount of knocking woke him up. I relegated it to "nets-only" status because it can absorb shocks from cheap balls at 18 yards.

All these bats were made by different bat makers and prepared/knocked with varying level of intensity. They delaminated. The only common factor is the quality of balls we use in our league (that factor has not changed) and , perhaps, the hardness of knocking. There is not much I can do about the balls but I have considerably changed my knocking, much gentler now.

I dont disagree with any of ur comments. And i most certainly believe Ca were the best pakistani company out there until recently. Vr talking the past year or so. Believe me i have seen personally what is being done. And it is not right whats happening. I'll mention once again. Ca plus 15000 is supposed to be their grade 1 bat. 2 years ago the average Ca plus 15000 would have 8-10 straight grains and none to very little heartwood. If u see the latest Ca plus 15000 they have lots of blemishes and upto 70% heartwood and even the grains arent straight. There may be an odd one out that still looks great but im telling from a batch of 20 bats that i saw 18 wouldnt pass as grade 1 (according to the JS wright definition of grade 1). What they have done (and their rep confirmed) is kept the price of Ca plus 15000 the same as 3 years ago. But its no longer the same bat. The willow that 3 years ago would have been Ca plus 8000 or 10000 is now 15000. And the willow that used to be 15000 is now players edition and so on. My recommendation to anyone looking to buy a Ca bat would be to try and look for ones with older stickers. U will see the clear difference
