Sean Ervine's Bats off eBay
« on: February 28, 2019, 06:23:35 PM »

Might have seen Sean Ervine sold a load of his bats on eBay this week. I think a few forum members got hold of them.
anyway, thought I'd post some photos of what I ended up with. I bought number 7 which was 2'7.5 with no grip. I've redone the facing and cleaned it up a bit. Now with a grip it weighs 2'9 and its pretty large. 43mm edges and 28mm toe.

Mine was pretty much the same. Absolute steal think it’s a Keeley but just guessing. Have you stuck it through the gauge I think it might be touch and go

Big bat, looks a good buy, that was the one that I asked about but you got there first. Hope it goes well for you

Any clue on the origin?

SS or SG depending on when he got it I’d think

Based on my limited experience, i think it is Kippax. I have something similar made by Kippax, it could be exact replica of this.

I’m thinking Kippax. Toe looks identical, and the handle looks right.

The profile does look a lot like a colossus to me. Is it a shorter blade longer handle?

I didn’t take the plunge but boy was it tempting

It’s answered quite a lot of questions about a very decent international player as well.

Range of weight and makers from all over the world - stickers changed as sponsor changes.

His listing was a little haphazard when it first went on but by the end was much clearer and I bet he was bombarded with questions. But 6 bats at £160 isn’t a bad weeks work.

It’ll buy him some new golf balls for his new career!

the bat came in a golf club box - seems he has already been investing in some new golf gear!!!

i still do not get how he can play golf right handed - i get the thing that the swing can be bad for batting and i know others have done it (remember seeing Lara playing right handed in a video years ago), but i can't even swing the club when i try it!!!

Not that I’m anywhere near the standard of Sean Ervine, bought I play tennis left handed and write left handed. But play cricket right handed. To be honest I use to play tennis with both hands until a coach told me you need to pick 😂😂
