Yeah nice to see someone who has grasped the concept of it and doesnt view it as a gimmick...helps when you have BSI results to back up your claims to prove the technology actually works but cant explain that to everyone i guess so hope this review helps to get the message across :)

Now that is a proper review! Well told and explained in depth why he liked it, not just some off the cuff remark as he is limited by word count!

Congrats Tom

I have to agree, felt so much better on my head than the Masuri which has gone from number 1 now, glad to be getting a custom.

Is there an inner sweatband in the helmet? Anyone fancy posting a pic if the inside of their lid as I haven't see the airbag system?

Liam-no sweatband as the liner in made of PU in order to make it air-tight and therefore inflatable.....

All of the air chambers are filled to mould the liner to the shape of your head and get the best possible fit.

Wisden went as expected for a rough working prototype we sent it to see how it was recieved. 2.5 out of 5 stars was ok considering there is alot of room for improvement with it in terms of making it lighter and getting the ACIS to fit properly in both models.

Were trying to get the balance between modern and traditional appearance to broaden our market appeal but ultimately are pushing the technology and new improved materials being used in the helmets.

well mine came today and is great and tom is a1 for customer service plus people especially in cricket are scared of new things i wear the original obo p1 batting pads and while all my team mates agree are lighter and ofeer better protection they would not buy them as are different but you can't fault the tech same with the ayrtek helmet hopefully will catch on at grass roots as anything that improves saftey is a good thing in my book

The first cricket box was used in 1874.  The first cricket helmet was introduced in 1974. So, it took 100 years for men to twig that their brains were also worth protecting.

Roco as a small company we aim to give a personal service to our customers which is all part of the Ayrtek experience. We have learnt with our batting pads and gloves that were launched under CCC that change needs to be gradually accepted as it takes time to win people over.

Hopefully now the helmets are being seen as more than just a gimmick it will help people to view them in a different light and consider making a purchase given the amount of features you gain for a little extra outlay.
