I've always felt he tended to "prop" forward early doors and push his hands at the ball. As Fros gets into his innings, his feet start moving and it becomes a different game. Trigger movement is a bit bigger than I remember and no doubt caused by the bouncer warfare that sometimes exists at our net sessions. I think alot of us go back and across to get inside the short stuff some of our lads fire down.

Here's one for you all to have a good laugh at. Cranking the tennis ball machine even higher last night, and moved it further forward a couple of yards. Makes it unbelievably quick. Here's the first attempt at playing it, you'll see him get wrapped on the helmet twice in successive balls! Funny!

Let me know what you think, and we'll keep on making these videos. Any ideas for some new ones then let me know! WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE? PAIN?!?!

I think it is highly irresponsible for your professional to be doing this. Have you not seen the Fulton of Kent video? If I was your club chairman I'd be tearing my hair out. Much like your last chairman.

We have a third teamer who will be taking on the challenge this week! I will post the link for the video hopefully on Friday if it all gets edited in time.

Also keep posting in here any ideas for what you want to see...

Ricky - A tennis ball could skirm through the grill or even bounce and hit him in the jaw - causing injury. Would you want your professional at your club doing this before the start of the season? Not sensible if you have to line up a sub-pro week in week out that you can ill afford until he recovers...

Skiing is fun - but footballers aren't allowed to ski because it's deemed a risk. IMO this is just as bad.

Who called the fun police...

Hardly unlikely a tennis ball will cause a serious injury and in my opinion more of a risk for the pro rather than the club if he doesnt play he won't get paid simple. Better stop our pro from using the internet typing too hard could damage his fingers and risk him missing the start of the season.

are you for real? a tennis ball might give him a bruise, not much more
and yes, i have been hit by a tennis ball, a full-blooded serve into my cheek, it stung like (No Swearing Please) and i had a massive red mark, that was all
and i think a club can cope without a pro for a few weeks

i stand corrected ricky. i didn't realise you played tennis with professionals serving at 100 mph. in that case tbarnfield maybe get him to do it without a helmet then if he'll only get a massive red mark?

cope without a professional? not if it's mandatory to have a professional.

Outlaw I was talking about the club and the professional as one - not sensible on either parties. The club loses it's pro who they have to replace (may cost more for a sub pro), disrupts the balance of the side, no coach for seniors or juniors for a period of time and of course for the pro who will be out of pocket.

so a tennis ball at 100 mph wouldn't rupture an eye socket or break a glass jaw?

Probably not considering...
1. Its a tennis ball
2. By time it reaches him it will be traveling considerably slower.

I don't play with pros, far from it, professionals serve a fair bit over 100mph, 120mph is about average.
He could do it without a helmet if he wanted, but if he can wear a helmet that will stop 99.999% of tennis balls that hit it without pain then why should he not wear it?

If its mandatory to have a professional then some people take cricket far too seriously.
