Look at both bowling attacks over 5 matches and you might see a close series

Starc, hazlewood,Lyon and Cummins if they can all stay on the park and fit could do well in our conditions.

I'm not even sure Hazelwood will get a game, he has struggled in the A tour games and something tells me they will go with Pattinson's county experience and ability with the bat.

This is going to be such an interesting match. Paine says it's not a test shoot out but it sure looks like it to me.

Seems a bit one sided to me, the Haddin XII has all the batsmen. The Hick team is 3 out all out with Smith, Wade and Paine the only three that know one end of a bat from the other. Should be interesting to see how it unfolds, I really like this as a warm up to the Ashes.

It is such an interesting way to warm up for an Ashes series. Have an 'A' Tour, which isn't really an 'A' Tour and is basically masquerading as the players that aren't playing in the World Cup getting time in the middle against the red Duke ball.

Then play a 1 off selection game against each other so you can control everything that happens rather than some crappy 3 day warm up against a county 2nd XI.

When you think about the preparation we got in Australia this is ridiculous.

This Austrailian team I think are going to be one of the best prepared sides for a long long time.

First innings batting order: Burns, Roy, Denly, Root, Bairstow, Curran, Woakes, Ali, Gregory, Broad, Leach

I am not sure why Australia would come in with low expectations to this series. They look a better batting unit than England, particularly when England have no one established in any of the positions 1-3. Obviously Australia's weakness against the moving ball and on pitches that you can't leave on length on will balance out the advantage but Austalia still look stronger.

Bowling wise, things should be very different to the last series in Australia. I couldn't comprehend England picking a load of medium fast seamers who were cannon fodder in Australian conditions whilst Wood, Plunkett and Rashid who had the pace bounce and turn to be a genuine threat only played in the one day series. England look like having a much more balanced attach this time round, although the fitness if Wood and of Archer is a blow.

From an Australian perspective, they haven't looked the same as a unit since Newlands. When you see both the amount of reverse swing they got, and how early in the innings they got it I have no doubt that they cheated with the ball throughout that series. Will be a big test for them.
