Gotta love a gauge buster, top work Jonny! Been toying with the idea of a 70mm spine bat with 30mm edges and no concaving - good to see that this could probably be achieved in a reasonable medium weight! 2lb 11.7oz is the same weight as my one...

Love the weight reduction, you've managed to keep the profile while trimming it down. Bet it picked up like a dog... I'll show myself to the door.

😆 Yeah it picked up pretty bottom heavy in its original state, as there was unnecessary weight all in the toe. Picks up so much better now.

In fairness I didn't expect this to get to where it is based on the weight before shaping. Sometimes you just never can tell 100%.

Shaped a bat this afternoon which I'm going to raffle off for charity, which seem to go well on social media

I support a charity called Homeless Hampers, who do great work handing out food and clothing to vulnerable and homeless people in Leeds. All profits will go to the charity and will stick some gloves with it too. Will be a shade under 2lbs 9oz and just needs its final sand. Big bat for the weight!

Thanks mate. Admins please remove if this isn't allowed...

Raffle is live, all money (£400) will be going to charity, I'm taking nothing out. If anyone wants a chance of winning the bat, some gloves or a bat cover its £10 per number (1 - 40).

Thanks everyone!

Thanks to anyone who supported the raffle. £450 donated to the charity (Homeless Hampers UK).

Also inbetween the various rehandles and refurbs, I managed to shape my first bat in the new workshop. Still some finessing to do but almost finished. Will be 2lbs 10oz fully dressed

Thought I'd update on the workshop if anyone is interested. Been a hectic week since I got the keys as had refurbs, rehandles and bats to make alongside painting, moving and then finally today building stuff into the space.

Put some benches in and partitioned a corner off to display bats, softs and bags. Getting there now but still need some racking building, a shelf above the bench for tools and a new dust extractor. Also got a frame coming to set up a drum sander......all go!

Very nice mate, looks a lovely set up your building for yourself. Must be great to have that much space and also to work away from the house. Wish you all the best buddy.
