Thanks mate. Yeah they came out well. Always difficult trying to hit dead weights, but I try to meet requirements where specified if at all possible. I'd have prefered to make them 2lbs 10oz tho tbh!

What's the reason please? Thanks

The reason why I'd rather make them heavier, or why it's hard to hit dead weights?

Yes, why would you want to make them heavier? Thanks

Personally I just feel 2lbs 6oz is too light for an adult bat, so would always suggest looking at something a touch heavier and leave more in the bat.

However, I will obviously do what the customer requests. I also find a lot of people use bats which are an oz or two heavier than they believe them to be. When people request really light bats I sometimes ask them to check their current bats weight and a lot of the time it's not what they believe it to be.

A time ago I was told, that 2lb 10oz is the best weight option.

Pleasure mate, always happy to talk bats! 😆 There's also the issue of the availability of light willow, but that's another matter altogether.

People just seem to be wanting lighter, yet bigger. So constantly trying to hit low scale weights, big specs isn't easy.

Personally, if I can handle it, I would prefer to use, 2lb 10oz,
Imagine of the push, back towards bowler, which goes for a 4!

Nothing wrong with 2-10 but "best weight option" isn't a universal thing. I've got a 2-9 with a shorter blade from Jonny which is a monster and picks up really nicely but I've also had lighter bats that picked up terribly and heavier bats that picked up very nicely too.

Agreed mate. It's not a one size fits all approach and shouldn't be. I just feel 2lbs 6oz is so light it's really not necessary, but each to their own. You should use whatever's comfortable.

The main issue is people expecting 40mm edge and 67mm with no concaving at those weights! 😂

I think what that person meant, that 2lb 10oz is good enough weight for most of us to use, with good amount of wood.
