I'd recommend the Neon pads, I absolutely love mine.

For a full review of the 2018 version (which are still going strong) see here:

Hi everyone,

Looking for a new set of pads for next season. Normal requirements:

* Lightweight (if possible)
* Non-Squeaky (if possible)
* Under £100 (becoming difficult)
* Don't stain with sweat after one net session.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts and opinions.

Many thanks

JT

Aero P1. Best pads on the market. Light weight (size small is the lightest weight pad of the cbf maintained list), durable, and easy to maintain ( you can wash the detachable inner liner in laundry and outer shell with water and soap).

This should match your price range.

https://www.cricketexpress.co.nz/product/aero-p1-leg-protectors/crpaaep1.aspx . Other colors are available as well.

After 9 seasons of use, I recently bought a second pair as back up (just in case :D) myself and a few for my team mates.

If Aero P1s truly were the "best pads on the market" the design would've caught on by now, surely?

The true mark of quality is if international players use them despite not being contracted to do so (look at Remfly or Stretton Fox being the best examples). The only one who ever endorsed these was Chris Martin, and I've always wanted to bat just like him...

Aero P1s look terrible and simple aren't that good!

Morrant ultralight international get my vote. Very light, very comfortable and a more traditional look than Aeros.
Used by Sachin and MSD, so got international pedigree too.

Everyone will of course recommend what they have bought but having had a lot I have been happiest with Ayrteks. Literally no downside cost aside, but they are in budget so give them a look 😀 No noises, super comfortable, least bulky pads I’ve ever had so excellent movement, top protection... nothing not to like

I can say having tries te Newbery SPS softs that i wouldn't recommend them to anyone.  They look great but we poor in every other respect

Shape. Players are afraid that "oppo" will make fun of the shape of the pads. Aero predates Moonwalkers which are gaining market traction due to IPL player endorsements. Nevertheless, it is a great product that never caught on because it looked "funny".

HAHAHAHAH. International players sign endorsement deals. Read: $$$. I have seen tons of international players use Remfry (in nets) but hardly ever anyone seen using Fox. Thigh pads are hidden, so no enodorsements there but Remfry are the standard.

After 9 seasons, never had a problem. I Used them in front of Bola and human bowlers, no problem whatsoever. The bias against Aero P1s is based on looks but they functional extremely well.

I used to own Morrants as well and Aero P1 size small was lighter than Morrants.

Our 40 overs opening batsman uses them and we all make fun of them. By far, the worse design of pads for me. I have 2 pairs of GN legends and I am never going back.

^ Yup, that's true. You do need a healthy self-esteem to wear them.

Ergonomically, the Aero P1 design is very effective, it helps footwork because pads (top parts) don't get in the way. Nimble footwork.

Either of the Red Ink pads. Both on sale so will save you a chunk of cash. Or of course you could take a pair of gloves as well within or just over budget (depending on range)

Quick bump on this.

On the look out again for a pair of non-squeaky pads. Ideally small mens, if possible.

Any recommendations, please?

My lad uses the @Ayrtek Cricket small mens pads and they're very good indeed, he swears by them, comfy and light.

A great shout Tony but unfortunately out of stock at the moment. Will definitely take a look once they are back in stock.
