I fear I may have caught the Keeley bug...Over the last few months, I have kept a very close eye on Keeley's social media pages, specifically interested in the bats they are posting images of. As the weather starts to turn and Boris's seemingly positive announcement last Monday confirmed we would get a season this year, I decided to take the plunge. In typical forum fashion, rather than purchasing one, I have ended up with three so I thought I would post some photos of the bats that arrived today and give a short 'review' of my experience to date.
I first got in touch with Keeley via email last Monday as I was particularly keen on one of their Instagram specials. Unsurprisingly, the bat in question had sold, but Keira was happy to honour the pricing seen online for both G2 and G3 bats. I am not too fussy when it comes to bats, so I requested one of each grade, both around 2lb 10oz fully dressed in the Worx 074 profile. Going above and beyond what I had expected, I then received a WhatsApp message from Keira with a couple of photos of the bats that have been selected. Both looked fantastic so I gave the green light and got the money sent over. Subsequent messages to Keira about minor topics such as pressing, knocking in and delivery were answered promptly and in detail.
These two arrived this morning. The rainbow edition bat is a grade 2 bat, the yellow is a grade 3, both weighing 2lb 10.3oz with stickers, grip, toe guard and scuff sheet applied.
Having done extensive shadow batting in the home office this morning, both feel great. The traditional Keeley thin oval handle is present which I will bulk out with an additional grip. Tapping up with an old ball, both sound brilliant and it is difficult to find a difference in the two bats.
To summarise, I have been extremely impressed with the whole buying experience. The Keeley team must get inundated with requests both via the website and via their social media pages, so to get the personal service as I did made me very happy as a customer.
I do have a Worx 017 due for delivery in the next few days, so I will get some images uploaded of that bat later in the week.
