Crawley hasn't got the test runs to make that an interesting question just yet. Burns comes back regardless I think, but if Crawley does get scores on this tour then Denly looks very vulnerable.

Surely if anyone is under threat its Denly. Burns was the only opener on either side that looked like they'd held a bat before during the Ashes - and the management think highly of him.

I dont see any problem with Crawley slotting in at 3.

Burns will come straight back into the team, unless Denly scores a mountain of runs.

Big fan of Denly and glad England picked him, maybe he was a stop gap pick but got shoved up and down the order and proved he is a team man.
I actually think he will have a good tour with both bat and ball, Sri Lanka are not great let’s be honest and his leggies could pick up a few wickets.

But there’s always one eye on the future and Sibley, Burns and Crawley look to be doing well. If we pick young players we have to give them chances and time.

A long winded answer to the question but yes...Burns back when fit so someone makes way, Denly himself probably knows it is likely to be him.

When he gets in(Denly) he does not quite do enough does he?

This is it, He seems like a good bloke and digs in but seems to hang around and then get out for 30. I'd much rather see a young gun exposed to test cricket early and bed down a top order

Planned this holiday for 7 months. Absolutely gutted. Planned on going regardless but if the players are coming back immediately then it just makes sense to go.

Trying to recoup back as much as I can on the phone with hotels etc now, this is awful.

Sorry to read your troubles. At least it has been cancelled, so you have a better stance to take it up with your travel insurance and credit card issuers. Good luck.

Id still be going personally, had a great time in Sri Lanka when i went, beautiful country.

I just got back from Morocco. The dodgiest part of the whole trip was Stansted, overcrowded and filthy!

Me and my other half discussed it at length last night and were both on and off about just going; initally this morning we were fine and thinking we'd make 3 weeks of it, but the inevitable news just deflated me. Plus this stuff doesn't seem to be dying down anytime soon and I'd hate to put myself (and her) in a situation where we have issues getting out of the country.

Got most of my flight money back and cancelled two hotels we hadn't paid for. Now speaking to two other booked hotels about getting a refund at such a late stage, one has kindly agreed but I have to go through hotels.com to sort it; have been on hold for about 3 hours this morning

As of now, probably £330 down, but I appreciate that many others will be a lot worse off...
