Well....something some of us, although mentioned on this thread, didn't really see coming appears to be happening.
Which is even if net practice, if you can arrange it, leads to games in July for example, players diving in to play may be the problem.
Personally I would be happy to play without worrying too much about catching anything, maybe I'm biased, I missed the whole of 2019 and was told I cannot play cricket again(since changed with conditions) but I'm hearing 10 out of 11 players I know in one team are not happy playing at all this summer. If correct that would put the club in a difficult position as they would be essentially one whole team short and therefore forfeit matches in one of the lower teams in that club.
I don't blame anyone at all for not wanting to risk playing, it could also be people have taken on additional work or worried about paying out costs for cricket when there is precarious job security, or a combination of a few reasons.
10 out of 11 is a lot and it could be that becomes just as much of a problem for clubs going forward.
There's no easy answer to fixing that either.
