Revenue wise, it’s not beneficial for the ECB/sky sports for recreational cricket to start. They’d rather have people watch the West Indies series given how much they’ve spent on bringing them here

If people have Sky already, doesn’t matter if they watch they have already got their subscription...

That’s it for me. I’ve formally retired from playing and taking up fishing and golf. Screw this.

Ad revenue from increased viewership?

7 more Pakistan players and one staff tested positive. Suffice to say I'm not sure that tour will be happening...

That’s 10 in all I think, Giles just said the tour is still going ahead but that’s looking more unlikely as each day goes by.

I can’t believe our players will accept playing without passing all the tests and accommodation conditions the Windies have

Have they been tested at any point in their current training scenarios?

I only play for a Sunday side so suspect the comments earlier will mean the year is canned; haven't had a net since early March either

Boris answered the cricket question directly with a 'no'..

Can't see anything meaningful now until Aug. Friendlies only (or clubs playing 'competitive' games between themselves)

Sadly this seems to have taken the ECB by surprise. It's almost as if they haven't been paying any attention to club cricket...

I would argue that Boris was taken by surprise.

Asking him was a daft thing to do

The only optimism that I have is that it was Johnson who gave that answer and not a medical expert.  On the basis that when faced with a direct question Johnson either avoids the questions altogether or tells a lie, I don't think the season is doomed just yet

We've got senior trainings restarting from tomorrow. 18 max, split between three nets, have to pre register. Hopefully we will be in a position for the restart when it comes!

While in the interim, Burns has signed with Grays either being dropped from NB or out of contract.

Than NB? Is that likely?

Haven’t Gray Nicolls always been keen to ensure that all England openers over the past few years use there kit?? Now have Burns, Crawley and Sibley so looks like it will stay that way for a while

Fortunately, a baseball isn't, so I'm just going to play baseball instead. Problem solved.

BBF (British Baseball) also today confirmed fixtures banned until August 1st.
No mention of “Natural vector of disease” mentioned though.
