Refurb completed on this GM Icon 808, no major damage was just looking a bit tired couple of little face cracks but simple job finished I�ve the weekend

Another refurb completed, this one had a rag there large crack on the edge that I honestly think was caused by the bat being so dry. Decent size bat and shape but was 2.4 when stripped back and although I didn�t measure would say had 36+ edges.

Also finished the copy of the 1990�s Holt & Haskel bat that I was asked to do. Was nice making something more traditional and not something I have done a huge amount of.
Finished weight is 2.9.2 with a high spine and very thick toe and handle loved how well balanced this came out for a low middle bat. Edge Max is 29mm and it�s pretty thick all the way through. Set the handle back ever so slightly on this one as the oroginal bat had almost no bow at all and with the part made clefts being slightly bowed at production stage it just doesn�t make it more pronounced so keeping inline with original shape as best as possible

I�m a big fan of the fibre scuff personally, I know it hides the grain structure to a degree but just for me I think they look superb and offer great protection for the bat. And for Those that are worried about the tiniest of weight margins they save a bit there as well all be it not much.

Marvellous. Quite Chasey - I wonder how much influence H&H had on the Chase shapes. Probably zero, ha!

I use a heat gun and a wall paper scraper and they just peel off mate as they are a lot thinner than the clear helicopter scuff sheets, once it�s hot it�s a doddle to repair. The Newbery hammer edge ones are the ones I find are the worst to remove as they are made of almost a sheet of plastic

Evening all. Another AM18 being shaped up at the moment. Just thought I would share and also I was asked away from the forum why I have various weights written on the blade of the cleft. Basically when I get an order I write the specs if anything specific being requested on the blade. One of the things that I�m learning about is judging the best clefts available to make the beat bat for each customer. The various weights are at each stage I check the weight to work towards the desired end weight. It�s hard to take a cleft that�s 3lb+ and make a 2.7-2.8 bat if the requirements are large edges and full shape for example so what I try and always ensure is that the customer gets the best bat that suits them. That�s the reason for the various weights. The order is starting weight, weight after toe shaping, weights after removal of the handle splice and shaping of shoulders, weight after removal of bulk of the wood in the blade. So this is 2.10.6 and I�ll now go about removing wood in smaller stages from toe again, top third and bulk to get to the desired weight range. The �weight range is what I need to get to makes weight to allow for the approx 2oz gain from binding and grip.

Thanks mate the spine flattens out on the SL06 but stays into the spine on the AM18. Thanks for the comments mate

So with my 3rd child due in July Iv been thinking of a new shape for a while. For those that don�t know the two current stick shapes I make are named after my children and year or birth. So this will be the ??21

Based on a traditional edge shape and also offering a spine into toe option.

Any thoughts or comments on this shape?
