Finished this one last week for my first international order off our to NSW Australia.

Shaped based off customers old bat that he sent pics and specs of. Finished at 2.9.9 thick oval handle, no scuff high spine, 33mm edges

Lovely spine here flowing into the handle - I hope that we see trends heading towards having more wood in the spine and shoulder area, and a little less distributed to the edge. Seems like the GM Prima is catering to this, which is probably my favourite of the new GM profiles.

Thanks @Chad this has been the way on the last half a dozen or so iv made as its far easier to distribute the weight weight through the bat through the spine than just edge size.
As for edge sizes the general consensus through sales is that edge size isn�t high in most players wish list, it�s very hard for small bat makers/shapers to get enough willow across all grades to offer 35mm plus edges in the most common 2.8 - 2.9 weight options so this shape for example is a trade off off long middle, decent enough specs throughout edge, toe and centre edge shape.

Has to fill the gauge for at least 4 inches, must be 40mm thick through the splice and have a 30mm toe with 24mm at the edge of the toe. Oh, and has to be 2lb 8.5oz dead with grip and scuff.

Thanks mate, it�s one of those that�s coke out really well and the cleft is very nice to work with, for a copy I�m very happy with it and would agree it�s one of my best copies.

No the GM is a little lighter at 2.10.6 but I guess that�s why you pay �500 plus if your wanting an oz or so dead weight lighter weights plus prettier clefts

Evening all

Just thought I would update what iv been up to over the last month.

Been tweaking my stock shapes and this is the 2022 SL06 profile. This is a stock bat grade 2. Weight is 2lb 12 oz and available for �150 if it takes anyones fancy.

Another stock bat Grade 1. Needs final touches and sanding but will he around 2lb 10oz. Mid/high middle, semi oval handle, light concaving probably a couple of MM. normally �269 but available for �225 if again takes any ones fancy.

Grade 3 AM18 made mid December for a customer, finished weight was just under 2lb 8.5oz 34mm edge and lovely full profile.

Bat on the right was the first bat I made and has been my match bat for the last two seasons, now making a new modern replacement but sticking to the same profile and middle position. Toe a little thicker on the new model. Square toe, mid/high middle, oval handle.

Personally think thicker toes are an absolute must for durability so interested to see you're going with one on your own bat.

@Jimbo thanks for the comments. The toe on my own bat is currently very thin due to a A) drastic weight reduction from its original weight to what it weighs today and B) repairing some spike marks that went deep due to a badly placed bat at the end of last season.

The toe on the SL06 with the higher middle is 14mm at edge and 26mm centre as standard and on the AM18 its a little thicker at 18mm edge and 28mm centre.

Fingers crossed not had any returned to its blown toes but these are a little thinner than I have made before. Main reason is to be able to make these scale weights that�s a fascination of so many. So had to start removing MM here and there to get more clefts from the limited I buy in the grand scheme of things to be under 2.10 years with a big enough profile players to want.

Always surprised that more people who love the big specs aren't willing to compromise with a LH/SB setup.

I've toed 6 bats over used in the nets. I found out that
it doesn't matter if the toe is thin or thick, as long bat is pressed well by the bat maker.

The AM18 is that set up but as you say most choose the traditional SH set up. Personally I prefer the slightly shorter blade set up.
