Is the game even a contest with these ridiculously short boundaries

Teams have struggled in PSL to score big in Sharjah. I assume as the tournament progresses, the pitches will start to wear out and stroke play will be challenging.

Haven't noticed in this IPL yet, but last year in the Caribbean Premier league, there were some ridiculously short square boundaries.  I think in 1 match it was something like 45m square on one side.  School kid boundaries.  T20 growing on me ... but not when they dumb the boundaries down.

Only watched the highlights on sky’s YouTube channel and from what Iv seen the standard of fielding has been very poor, lots of drops and players just not reading the flight and all kinds of comedy fielding.

Was great to see Archer score 20odd from 4 balls as not really seen his batting for England yet come good.

Somehow, just lost interest in IPL. Find it too artificial now - horrible flat pitches, nothing in it for the bowlers, all made to make batsmen look 'Superman'.

Little I have watched - Rohit Sharma has a fairly protruding belly & was coughing away by the 14th over.

As I said the other day, Sharjah is nothing but a batsman's game...

It's boring... Been watching the Rachael heyhoe flint final which has been decent, one sided but decent and got so much time for one if the diamonds batsmen using an early 2010s GM

Decent fielding from Pooran just now.

The step change in the standard of fielding has been remarkable.  I can't recall a discipline of the game that has improved beyond recognition as fielding has since the advent of t20 cricket

Fielding is the only facet to have improved though .. at the cost of bowling and batting.. is a few flashy stops worth that skill fade ?

Would say ground fielding has improved. The standard of catching in the last two years in international cricket has become worse
