GM Chroma
« on: November 13, 2020, 05:53:45 PM »

I was always going to get one of these when I saw the shape on the early release pics and only ever going to get it from @Six Sixes Cricket as the service is just second to none.

Shape wise I loved my PE but sold it on to put some money into my own brand that I launched in the summer but my GM’s over the last 4 seasons have all been superb and for me are my favourite brand.

So this as many have seen is basically a stock option of the players edition shape that all the GM pro’s mainly use with the L555 traditional length blade. Duckbill toe and all the wood in the driving area. Pretty common “Pro” shape at the moment.

This is the G2 signature model which from the big brands offers arguably the best value for money for looks and performance, 8 grains that’s are almost perfectly straight with a couple of little pub marks towards the top of the bat but away drill playing area and match through the back of the bat.

Weight is dead on 2.9 but feels very light, lovely think oval handle and these new grips are certainly thin, not sure how long they will last but I guess the fascination with dead weight has meant a lighter grip to more of these under 2.10 naked weight. Personally I’ll change to a U.K. chevron that I have on any bat I use.

Anyway here are a few pics

Haven’t tapped up yet but I’m assured it performs as good as it looks

Gutted they aren't doing these in academy or small mens sizes, comfortably the best GM shape I've seen.

It’s pretty similar to my Sirius shape. I’ve got plenty of nice clefts in stock so if anyone wants one made up then just give me a shout

Yep, fantastically shaped cricket bat. I saw this one weighing in at only 2.6 and 3/4 on The Cricket Boutique and had to pull the trigger, arrived today and absolutely no regrets. Great performance straight out the packet and I’m sure it’ll only get better when we can go back to hitting balls. Great introduction to the range @Edward Lowy hope it is here to stay for a long while. Now can we get the same shape in L540 next year, call it the Bronza or something like that  :D

And with minimal concaving just to make it slightly bigger...

What the forum does vs. what the forum ought to do?

Looks a lot like the B3 Imperium without anything at the toe.

Glad you like Chroma, and so pleased we were able to keep it quiet until launch  :o

It is a very attractive bat and an awesome performer. Brains and beauty, who'd have thunk it?

Never one to knowingly turn down a CBF trend I also picked up a Chroma from @Six Sixes Cricket

I echo all the feedback so far.

Great shape. Thick handle. Generous grading.

It was 2.9.2 when it arrived. I’ve changed grip and added edge tape and it’s 2.10.0 now.

I couldn’t get on with the super thin and light grip - I feel the one I’ve added helps pick up but that’s just my preference.

Saw these on your Twitter @t2ylo - some great pictures! Definitely looks like a great shape! Would have got one too if I hadn’t bought a Sancta Grail.

All the same shape I think - here’s three different ones

I think mines just quite a big bat especially for 2.9 - 2.10 - I got lucky

Yep, you'd think so knowing how GM make their bats. Just my eye and the angles, one just looked to have a slightly higher middle position that was all.
