I fully appreciate that the aesthetic merits of branding is a subjective judgment, but I can't imagine anyone could look at that at think it looked good

This is just the 'performance' range, I think.

I find it hard enough to persuade parents (mostly) that Newbery bats are not made at the County Ground, Hove. Nevermind anything else.

Old models just went up 25 per cent on EBay.

Yeah performance range and available in 'just one grade' at £99. Doesn't say what grade but catering for a certain end of the market. But can't say I'm a fan of the stickers myself 😆

That's a good price for a bat if it really does perform.

It is. Although to price at that level you would think something has to give really. obviously grade being one. But also maybe quality of handle etc. Never seen one though, so obviously don't know what they're like.

Not sure they're aimed at serious cricketers/batsman. But as a bat for the occasional cricketer, bowler or someone who simply hasn't got the means to buy higher end willow, it will no doubt serve a purpose.

I had a Newbery phantom as a net bat in 2018 i think from IJC for £119, finish was poor, appearance wise looked fine but had a horrible pick up was very bottom heavy. This looks to be a replacement and is most likely G4 or velum grade at that price point. As has been said for those on a budget if you like the design is fine but I’d much rather a GM 404 if i really couldn’t stretch past £100

Those stickers bare some resemblance to the Newbery Oz branch, which I think was run as a separate entity.

must admit i've seen worse stickers (silver and black look good - some of the brighter colours are a bit vomit inducing):
https://newbery.co.uk/collections/n-series-range/products/n-series-senior-cricket-bat

if they are not made in suSSex and are made abroad there is likely to be a few poor lookers - but there defo could be a bargain to be found in picking one by hand - and fair play they are not covering up all the willow with stickers to hide any knots etc like some brnads have been known to

could be their version of the Chase R1 bats
