NZ v Pak - T20 Series
« on: December 17, 2020, 10:14:12 AM »

So Pakistan announce their T20 squad of 15 for the series.

But theres no space for Usman Qadir, who was the man of the series in their previous series v Zimb.

As a player, how dis heartening must that be?

The qadir omission is baffling!

Well he did open in the recent National T20 tournament and did quite well, isnt it? That was a typical NZ pitch with the amount of bounce it had. Shadab and Faheem made sure it wasnt an embarrasment. Its interesting how teams like NZ are never criticized for preparing such pitches but when it comes to spin friendly tracks in the sub-continent, it angers everyone.

Its a myth that he did well in the national t20. have a look at the below:

NT20 was the highest scoring tournament in the world. Multan and Rawalpindi are two of the highest scoring venues in the world. Still Rizwan’s strike-rate was 127. I DON’T THINK HE DID WELL at all. We need to look beyond runs and averages.

Imo, that isnt good enough for opening in t20 cricket.

NZ get stick for how green the track is pretty much every home game, what double standards? Didn't watch this game but 153/9 getting chased down with an over to spare sounds like a pretty normal T20...

As above, if NZ/eng/SA prepare a green top it’s perfectly acceptable and considered a sporting wicket. If a Bunsen burner is prepared on the subcontinent and the test also ends within 3 days everyone ends up in arms

Personally no issues with home advantage, think the NZ green tops are enjoyable and get better to bat on day’s 4 and 5

So Riz comes to the party for the last t20 game. And leads Pak to a successful chase.

Although even Babar is fit, Riz and him surely cant be batting in the top 6 together?

So do Pak continue with Riz and use him at 7/8 much like how the Windies used Ramadin during their two successful t20 world cup wins?

Babar is not fit, he fractured his thumb and hasn't recovered if I am not mistaken.

Another green top as expected - abbas could be a handful in these conditions.

How good is Kane especially on a green top. Yes Pakistan’s bowling line up isn’t great with only a couple decent bowlers

There's a reason why they tend to be on the greener side over there. If anyone cared to do some research into it
