Looking for recommendations for a pair of rubber/turf cricket shoes for games and training on artificial wickets.

Previously had a pair of Payntr rubber pimple shoes but just couldn't get on with their semi-solid upper and would prefer something with a bit more flexibility above the toe box.

Have looked at the NB 4020s and the Kookaburra KC 3.0 rubber shoes so would appreciate any feedback on those too!

Ive had a pair of the 4020�s (Astro and spiked) for 3/4 years and not had a single complaint about either.

From my own experience i find it really depends on what type of artificial wickets you play on.

We play on a one type which is more plastic based (like the old hockey pitch material) and the popping creases are worn and almost polished which it doesn't matter if you wear cricket, football or hockey soles (I've tried all) you're going to never really trust that front foot.

If you play on the more modern carpet type then i find any trainer that has a rubber sole rather than a foam works really well and i'm currently just using my Adidas Ultra boosts

Cheers lads, the NBs do look very nice. Just need to work out sizing compared to the Brooks trainers I've been living in since March!

I've not tried many NB shoes apart from two pairs of CK10s i've had and i would say they are fairly good to size and maybe only a tiny bit narrower than Adidas equivalents.

If you've ever owned a pair of asics advance/odi spikes they are have a very similar feel to them.

Thanks mate. Adidas shoes are a fairly tight fit on me so will probably look at a half size up in that case.

Asics gel peakes are the ones to get.
Not that expensive and easily obtained from India.

I considered Asics but the pair of Asics trainers I've got have never quite been comfy so was a bit reticent to take a chance on them.

By "artificial" do you mean astroturf?

I use Brooks trail runners which have rubber spikes (diamond shape) and provide excellent traction both on astroturf pitch and on grass. They also have soft/flexible uppers which bend and flex when you hike uphill, run on trails, or just play cricket on uneven grounds (which is the case with 90% of the grounds I play on).

I own couple of pair of these. They are hard to find but have been amazing for my feet and knees.

I've gotten myself Adidas Terrex Agravic. They are fantastic for artificial wickets. Good grip on wet grass too.

Nike Domain 2 NS has worked great for me on turf and wet grass specially with my wide feet.

Haven't had a pair of Nikes that have fit me properly since my football boots when I was 13 sadly 😅
