Still no refund confirmation, but have ordered the shoes I wanted from elsewhere... from SportsDirect of all places! I hate lining the pockets of Mike Ashley, but at least I’ll finally get the stupid shoes.

Was looking at going with them for our kit next season. Glad I’ve seen this, dodged a bullet.

@NT50  we have used Rob @Six Sixes Cricket as our club shop and kit supplier. Gave us choices of lots of manufacturers and in the end we went with GN through Rob and service has been superb since day 1.  So I know I point a lot his way but since Vitas ceased trading and then Rob started they really are by far the best for service.

Nightmare.....I try and avoid SD at all costs. I have been using MR Cricket Hockey and they have been brilliant https://www.mrcrickethockey.com/

Still no refund confirmation from the charlatans, but my CC company have already investigated and refunded. I wonder if that means they have a special “all rounder cricket” department...

@SouthpawMark good that your CC company stepped in. I had to take AR through the Small Claims court in order to resolve the issues with my order. Ended up with AR backing down and reimbursing me in full, plus some. Took a few hours to read through the Consumer Rights Act and put the claim together but the law is quite an easy read and heavily stacked in the consumers favour. I especially enjoyed the latter part when they were grovelling to make me close the claim, that was the best part.

Naturally I have never purchased from them since - and will never deal with them again.

I’m not sure why they behave in the way they do. As you say, the law is stacked in favour of the consumer, and we will ALWAYS get our money back one way or another. I am surprised they have lasted as long as they have, but eventually they will fold, and everyone who has ever made the mistake of ordering from them will let out a collective cheer. Awful, deceitful company.

Was looking at going with them for our kit next season. Glad I’ve seen this, dodged a bullet.

We used them as our kit supplier three years ago.  They were absolutely shocking.  We ordered over 120 playing shirts (adults and juniors) and were promised 6 week delivery, which turned into nearly five months.  They constantly made promises they couldn't keep or fobbed us off or just ignored us.  I ended up finding an email address for the owner and emailing him every couple of days (never got a response).  I know things go wrong, but they appeared to simply not care.

They were **so** bad they've even prompted me to write this post.

Just had a dispatch confirmation from them, two days after my CC company refunded me... this is going to be fun.

They’ll probably have the audacity to ask you to return at your own cost if this thread is anything to go by

That’s exactly what i am expecting to happen. I’ll be happy to return them as long as they provide fully insured, pre-paid postage, otherwise they’ll be out of luck.

Same with talent cricket. Ordered a custom bat. Sent mine to be replicated. Came back 4oz heavier totally different shape and 2 months late

Can’t agree more on talent, I ordered a bat, emailed a day later asking if I could change my order and they cancelled my order then to make it even more amusing emailed me roughly 6 months later stating that I was wasting his time and wanted to know if I’d made a decision yet 😂

I had a similar issue with them waiting for a delivery of a cricket bag.  It was listed as in stock on the website but tool ages to arrive.  When I chased it they said they were waiting delivery of stock, then kept fobbing me off with the same excuse.  I got fed up of waiting and ordered it elsewhere - emailed to cancel my order to be told it had been dispatched that day and couldn't be cancelled.  I refused the delivery when it arrived so it got sent back to them without me having to arrange it

The shoes have arrived from sports direct. They are rather snazzy! 😎

These oafs have ignored my cancellation, ignored the fact that my cc company has voided the transaction, and tracking shows that the pair ordered from them weeks ago will be getting delivered later today... 🙄

had a similar experience with talent. when i whatsapped the guy to inquire about the product, he replied. Few days after I placed the order, I WhatsApp him if it is possible to update the order. He looks at my message and doesn't respond to me. 3 weeks there is no update on the order. On their website, it still says pending order. I emailed them to cancel the order. 15 minutes after that email, I got an email saying the order is posted. Will not be using talent cricket again. However, they do have quite good selection of cricket equipment from a lot of brands.

another one that I had bad experience with was cricket direct. I had a horrible experience with them 7 years ago and will not be buying from them ever.

the only close cricket retailer I have is serious cricket which is half an hour drive from me. They don't have a lot of selection of bats and price are a bit on the higher side.  I booked some net sessions with them last year. Due to lockdown, I had to cancel the booking and was trying to see if I can get refund, however they only offered me a voucher and that voucher only has to be spent with serious cricket. I have decided to not deal with serious cricket anymore.

The one retailer I have always have good experience is itsjustCricket. They have always delivered on time and always responded to messages and provided good service. however they have also now shifted elsewhere from london and paul is not running the shop anymore so can't say how there service is now.
