Labuschagne not scoring many this year in the 'low-quality' county championship.

I mean, it was an awful decision, miles outside off

Bit of an exaggeration. It was half a mile.

They did a U-turn immediately after that career best double hundred against Yorkshire. It had been announced that he would be released at the end of that season.

Interesting isn't it - early in that knock he was shelled at slip by someone who never usually field's there, cashed in... No, let's be fair CASHED IN and now has become a folk hero. Hes one of two players - the other being Viv Richards - I've ever been secretly happy about doing well against Yorkshire!

He was already a folk hero. Just one who was going to be released.

So will he get another one year deal or best to retire at the end of the season on a high?

With his stats its hard to not pick him for T20 - will be interesting to see if they do this year rather than loaning him out

Got to love Stevo!

Stevens just got Labuschagne out LBW AGAIN!  :D

Shockingly bad umpiring and dismal from the WK with the appeal and celebration. Never out in a month of Sunday's.. It's like watching League cricket with the orchestrated over appeal to things that are so obviously not even close.

I have also forgiven him for once “losing” one of my bats.

Care to elaborate  :D

It was a wonderful innings watching it back.

Sure. Back in (I think) 2004 he was using Kookaburra Beast bats, the ones with the graphite back. He was a bit underwhelmed by the bats he had been sent, and he had seen that I had a couple too. Anyway, I had finished a training session at Canterbury and we were talking after close of play. He asked if he could borrow one until his new bats arrived, so I got it out of the boot of my car, he tested the pickup, had a knock up with a ball, and I never saw it again!  :D On the plus side, I did eventually get a different bat off him, and it was about 10x better than the beast he permanently borrowed.

I suspect not, but it won't just be Surrey's caps that are brown right now...

Fantastic game of cricket in the end, and I hope we can look at having Roach on a longer term basis when he's not playing for the West Indies, excellent signing for us

Brilliant! Just don't let him near your stash of Stokesies...

Looked like his Keeley was going well for him.

Not going too bad is it! I’m tempted to get me some Keeley’s next year…

Imagine Mr Stevens isn't using the super skinny typical Keeley handles either.
