Symonds not using one of ours is my fault, didn't get bats until Friday morning. I would hope he'd use a proper 'Goose later in the IPL, if he doesn't I'll be incredibly disapointed.

Hunts County don't make all our bats Seedy either, again watch the videos. Pros can specify where there bats are made.

Not sure we'll see him with the MMi3.

Hayden we will and really should do, seeing as our launch revolved around him.

Who does Hayden play for in the IPL?
Looking forward to seeing that! He is aggressive enough and hits the ball like a rocket with a standard bat.....so should be good to watch how he gets on with the MMi3!  :D

Ooooh - almost at 1000 posts!! Will try not to get bowled like KP before reaching that landmark!
Although the dogs need a walk first!

Chennai Super Kings. Don't think he'll use it from the off though.

"If you're asking me if I'll use it, I certainly will — it will be used strategically" Is what he has said.

Come on Tom, Sareen could make an unbelievable bat for Symond's and have it in his hands the morning after the order at worst. You are a professional company and would have had 6 minimum made for him in case he signed for you and ready to go at the drop of a hat. I blame Symond's not you, he has let you down and you should dock his pay.

Have you tried dealing with Sareen for bats Mike? It was a 3 week waiting list before the IPL. Symonds was a very last minute thing, I only shortlisted him in early Feb. I take it very personally if they don't use our bats, so rest assured I'll be speaking with Andrew and our suppliers to ensure we have bats A. There on time B. To his spec.

Well give me a shout in future if you can't get bats made sooner than 3 weeks, I'll help you out.

Obviously the pros feel the concept is an intriguing idea however from the point of actually using the bat they must feel the concept wont work or why else would they not use the bat from the start of the game and in every game. I'm not sure how this actually reflects on Mongoose but it sure it wont be the success they had obviously hoped for.

I disagree with the fact they aren't using it because they don't believe in it. I just think they are used to taking cash for stickers and the main point is that the bat is meant to be a radical departure from the norm and so they need to use the shape instead of the stickers. Also these 2 new players are ex Internationals and it is just a pay day to them, their careers are behind them and so I guess they are less interested in using new ideas, I bet an emerging Aussie Test cricketer would invest more thought into a MMi3 or COR and that would be a better signing for Mongoose when they get a new player.

It's a confidence issue Watson I think, you see them in nets and they tank it all over the place. But they're worried of getting out first ball with a 'Goose, with a normal bat there is much less pressure. McGlashan in NZ took it out straight up and hit bowlers all over the park. I'd love all our players to do that, but it will need a big hundred or quick 50 to build it.

To say Hayden needs the cash is laughable, as he said in the interview he is keen for this to be a long term venture. You know nothing about the deal with Matthew and Mongoose Mike.

Well i pretty much stand by my opinions, if your paid to use a product and your happy with it then you would do what your paid to do ? however if your not that happy with it then the odd part time appearance may keep your sponsors relatively happy.

Hope im wrong.

Tom i all so agree with the confidence thing as this obviously so very different from the norm which is a pressure in its self.

The majority of cricketers in the world has used another brand with their sponsors stickers on, only problem with Mongoose is it is more apparent. And us keen eyed bat nerds will always pick up on the couple of occasions there is a splice in the bat.

I would hate to think that a couple of our bats aren't good enough for guys like Symonds and take it rather personally. So am constantly working on them to improve it for our Test players and most importantly the regular punters.
